Do offseason pickups at SF and C = back to square one in terms of chemistry?

Will we again experience some growing pains? It will be the second season of throwing new players together. Our current roster is starting to mesh, but with Holiday and Anderson sidelined, their return might shake things up again. If we drop Aminu and Smith, adding a new SF and big man might turn our roster into a glorified pickup team for the first few months of next season. And I'm not sure that we can afford another slow start if we plan to make a push for the playoffs. The West will still be a juggernaut. Denver will improve with health, Minnesota will still be dangerous, and the other top 10 WC teams seem like they will sustain similar success rates. Portland and Phoenix may take a dip, but nobody was counting them as playoff teams this past offseason either.

Will we be back to ground level in terms of chemistry with the return of Holiday/Anderson and the addition of a SF and C?

No it means we'll stop having pussies as a center.

Who can say. CP3 + Beli + Ariza + DWest + Okafor started out 11-1 in a brand new defensive system with a brand new coach with 3 brand new players. If you pick the right complimentary player, and that is what we will be looking for with the money we have to spend, they may be able to slide right in.

I don't think we are going to add a SF or C. I'm pretty sure we are going to have the same players next year that we have this year. Maybe a couple of end of the bench guys (like Jackson instead of Morrow). There aren't going to be any drastic changes..

Chemistry isn't about being off court BFFs, it's about fit and working together as a unit. Tyreke and AD seem to have pretty good chemistry. The aforementioned Hornets squad was able to hit the ground running with a new coach and system. You don't have to avoid talent to achieve chemistry.

If they don't keep everyone they'll have a modest amount of cap space ($6-7 million depending on the cap increase). If they do keep everyone they'll have the MLE. Do you really think they are going to choose to not use cap space or the MLE? They tried very hard to sign Martel Webster last year and then only gave Aminu a 1 year deal when that bid failed. They did not intend to have Aminu on the team this year. I would think at the very least they throw the MLE at someone like Ariza, Marvin Williams, or another SF upgrade before even talking to Aminu.

Pretty sure the first year the heat had Lebron they had plenty of talent. However, they didn't have good chemistry and never were the dominant team people thought they would be that season. Regardless of if they made it to finals or not. They struggled at times throughout the season. I think chemistry is very underrated concept.

This is the key. We already have the guys who will run the show. We just need someone who can stand in the corner and make that shot at an average or above clip. And as far as center, we just need someone(maybe he's already on the team: Withey pain train) to play tough defense and rebound without fouling all the god damn time(Sexy Lexi).

Chemistry:

quote:

Evans and Davis have also increased their familiarity lately by being on the floor together much more than they were early in the season. In many cases, Davis would take his first breather around the time Evans was entering a game, but now they’re often working in tandem. Evans is averaging 38.0 minutes in March, while Davis is logging a whopping 40.1 per night.

“We’re just communicating on the floor,” said Evans, who frequently has paired up with Davis in pick-and-rolls. “We’ve got a good relationship with each other. We are pushing each other to be the best we can be on the court. We’ve been doing well with that so far.”

The number 1 goal is to retain Morrow. I don't think we'll be making any big signing this offseason. We will probably sign scrubs like Edoh and resign Smith.

No. And if we do, it wont last long at all. The core of the team is set with AD, Jrue, Tyreke, and Anderson. Dont need a SF or C that dominates the ball. Just a guy that can play good D and score in double figures.

The reason chemistry was a little off this year was because we got Holiday and Evans. Holiday is a PG, so the ball is in his hands a lot. Took us a while to figure how to play with him and he with everyone else. And Tyreke is a slasher that needs the ball in his hands as well, and he never really had a defined role until the last few weeks.

When you get new players that have the ball in their hands a lot, itll take a while to figure everything out. We dont need a SF / C that gets a lot of touches or dominates possession. All we need is a guy like DeMarre Carroll at the SF, a great defender and can score double digits a night. Same with a C, but our C doesnt even need to score double digits. Needs to be a D stud and a good rebounder.

I agree. Gordon has to be moved somehow but it won't be likely.

Really bummed about Anderson. Who knows if he will ever be the same.
