What about Alex Edward? He's expendable. We could sacrafice him.

I know the fire javi thing is thrown around a lot on this site... but if he is the hitting coach for this team...he needs to shoulder the blame... it's painful to watch this team the way they are hitting. holding a team to 3 runs and still losing is just sad....

There have definitely been times when he's been criticized when it's unwarranted, but now is not one of them.

when pitching was struggling, they dumped Grewe and hired Dunn. Surely there's someone out there out there better that what we have?

How about whoever turned Andrew Stevenson from our most likely out to one of our best hitters in 2 months (summer ball), after we'd had him in our program all year? A hitting coach may not be the whole answer, but whatever we're doing, or not, isn't the answer either.

Javi did a good job of this by pulling down every other hitter on the roster. No one can argue Bregman was a better hitter as a free swinging freshman. Now he follows the Javi school of hitting (hit everything the other way) and his average is down over 100 points.

It's kind of like a stero-type, it gets overused, and it's a good running joke, but it does have its basis in some truth.

The last two seasons have ended when our offense flat out blew it. The pitching/defense held their end of the bargain (sure, Bregman error in Omaha, but we gave up 2 stinking runs and lost), and yet the offense was non-existent, even against a worn out, overused, rag-arm staff that rolled into Alex Box Stadium in 2012.

Coach Mainieri had great asst. coaches in his early years at LSU, and other schools noticed and hired them away. When is the last time our current hitting coordinator, who's been in this spot for going on 6 years now, was courted by another school?

I'm starting to form the opinion that Bregman may not be the once in a generation player that we once thought he was. Sure, he's a good player, but I'm not sure he is someone that you would form the rest of your team around.

It may be worse than I thought. Tulane started 7 true freshmen.

This team is in a bad slump. Last night got me really down. Hope they get hot late in the season.

Probably better to just disband the program for a few years.

I don't care how many freshman Tulane started, because that would factor into how many runs they scored against us, and that isn't the problem.

We've scored 2 runs in 13 innings against Georgia's Sunday pitching, and 2 runs in 11 innings against Tulane's midweek pitching. I only heard the pregame talk with Hawthorne and Hanny, and the last inning of the ball game, but when I heard the stats of the starting pitcher for Tulane, I thought, "Well at least we should get the bats going tonight."

I believe Georgia has the worst or second worst team ERA in the league before last weekend.
