In case you were not aware, The Consumerist (subsidiary of Consumer Reports) runs an annual "Worst Company In America" contest, the winner chosen by online reader polls. They do a single-elimination tournament similar to the March Madness format.

Here are the previous winners:
2006: Halliburton (Runner-up: Choicepoint
2007: RIAA (Runner-up: Halliburton)
2008: Countrywide Financial (Runner-up: Comcast)
2009: AIG (Runner-up: Comcast)
2010: Comcast (Runner-up: Cash4Gold)
2011: BP (Runner-up: Bank of America)
2012: Electronic Arts (Runner-up: Bank of America)
2013: Electronic Arts (Runner-up: Bank of America)

Kind of stupid that it went to EA two years in a row, but the Internets get angry about their video games.

Voting started today, and here are the day one results:

What is the criteria for "worst" company ? Because a lot of those nominees make a butt load of money and employ thousands of people.

It's worst companies for consumers. If it was just about ethically lacking, the list would be completely different.

I'd throw Xerox in the mix if it was worst company to work for. Those idiots are cheap as shite.

What's the deal with EA? Bad customer support or do their games suck now or something?

EA or Comcast

I don't shop at Abercrombie, but those frickers shouldn't of gotten seeded in this tourney. Their hate for fatties should get them rewards.

Time Warner Cable and Comcast are both pretty safe picks I would think.

Gotta be Comcast. It's not an opinion, it's a fact that its the single worst company in America. The IRS literally has higher customer satisfaction than Comcast.
