Let's stop being so over dramatic about the qbs

In 2007 lsu was preparing Perriloux to take over the lead role in 2008 and then he got kicked off. We then had a crap oc scramble to prepare three young qbs. Our best hope was in a Harvard transfer qb. Once hatch went down lsu replaced him with a freshman qb in lee who was not ready for that action. And to be honest probably would have never saw the field at another highly competitive program. He worked his tail off through his senior year and became a decent game manager. And then you have JJ who couldn't run or throw and is the only qb I've ever witnessed degress in his four years. Now you have three young 4* qbs with wheels that are all being groomed by an amazing qb coach/oc. All three possess the Matt Flynn potential if not better

Come on, just let the idiots freak out about a March practice performance.

Silly to panic over a few errant passes. Now, if they have issues in the "turn around and hand off" drill, panic could be justified.

This is the rant, being dramatic is part and parcel

It's tough to go from 2006 that had the number 1 overall pick of the draft, a nc qb, and a top high school prospect to 2008 that had three brand new qbs that were never supposed to play. Also those three guys never had an older qb mentor which helps in the long run. Jennings and rettig had Mett. And Harris now has Jennings and rettig.

Can you blame Tiger fans for being apprehensive about this:
...when in recent history we've had this:
???
The bottom line is, QB is the most important position on the field. We lack experience in that position. Lot's of experience, we have none. That causes a lot of Tiger fan anxiety.
With that said the talent appears to be there especially with Harris. The coaching is definitely there in Cam. Can one of these guys emerge as the leader...the leader in terms of making plays on critical 3rd and 4th downs and especially at ball security? IDK, but I hope so.

It's not going to feel like drama come August.
It's going to hit you like a Mett laser to Landry.
Hard Reality. Bye-bye passing game.

Exactly.
Although it's strange that the idiots are usually on here over-hyping every damn thing during spring practice. I mean it can be 7 on 7 drills and they will be telling us how good everyone looks. Future beast. Man among boys. Etc.

Everyone in here is way too hard and critical on JJ. he was not the best qb lsu ever had but he could run when the pocket broke down and had a good arm on the deep ball which T. Toliver and Brandon Lafell caught time after time and had 208 yes passing against Arkansas in 2011 on senior day. And Hayden is not a mobile quarterback. He is quarter back like Jerret Lee with a little stronger arm.

That would be none of us having a freaking clue as to how effective our 2014 offense might or might not be.
It is a tad amusing to see some practicing their cliff diving form in March, but negative types like to start the "sky is falling" claims early.

Figured the offense would take a pretty big step back this year, not surprising considering the losses. This year will be more like 2010.

As I wrote just this evening, I honestly think a considerable portion of our fanbase spend hours of the day spanking it while thinking about QBs and QB controversies. There are some sad old bastards among the tiger faithful...and aside from the Head Coach, they can only focus their attention on the QB (a position that has hardly been pivotal to SEC program success in the BCS era).
It's a symbol of some sort to them.
ETA: Still worth reading, from a time when most of you were e-gagging on the kid's balls.

Pathetic...

This early in spring practice I just hate to see all the QB's staring down their recievers and the Wr's only can run two routes.... it's going to be a tough year....

While I understand your point, I'm not at all sure Fla. St.'s QB wasn't very pivotal to their success and certainly Auburn doesn't have the season in 2010 without their QB. I think Fla's last BCS title had a lot to do with their QB.
Can you win the BCS without a great college QB...yes. Can a great college QB play a pivotal role to winning the BCS...yes.

Can we all agree that one of the three will start and that there isn't shite we can do about it!!

In.
And I'd like to add, that a multi-million dollar HC backed up by an NFL-caliber OC with plenty of experience developing quarterbacks is better capable of discerning the best option for the team than 10,000 shitheads on an anonymous web log. I'll go one step further in saying that I honestly believe that they will choose the QB that they consider the best option--because their financial futures are directly impacted by success on the field.
*Exception. CLM chose Jefferson over Jared Lee because he hates white people or because Jefferson was his biological son (plausible given the resemblance).
