And that's w/ interest rates near zero. That number is going to skyrocket when interest rates go back up.

Eventually, I hope, people will realize that the idea of government "paying it's bills" by going further into debt is fricking retarded.

It's hard to imagine if the Federal Reserve lose control of ZIRP. I suppose under that scenario the tax revenue into the US Treasury would be sufficiently robust.

BOJ have had ZIRP for almost 20 years now. and our fed is wayyyyyyy more aggressive than BOJ.

We are just in year 6.

OP - Eurocat just posted a chart from 2011 (see thread beginning "60% of Americans have less) with total fed spending at $3.64 trillion, with debt $247 billion (7% of spending).

Do you have a chart? What is the new % of spending?
