Have brick steps that are structurally sound but cosmetically blah. Id like a brick guy to come and lay a new brick over them.

I've been told this is possible and just need a guy to do them.

TIA

While you can certainly lay brick over existing brick, most times doing so on a set of steps will mess the rise/ height of the steps up. You are going to be adding 2.5" -3" to the overall height of your steps. You need to make sure the elevation change won't affect what you're stepping on to.

3.5 if using old brick. Call Steven Hebert with Hebert's Masonry @ 225-445-0385.

Only if you turn it like a rowlock. As a paver it would be 2.5" plus your bed.

It won't the first step is currently at ground level. I'm also building a new sidewalk with it so I can match up the height to ensure the first step is fine.

What about the top step (porch, door threshold, whatever you're stepping up too)? Will having a 3" higher step screw it up?

Nope. It's a 4-5" rise currently.
