Game of Thrones Official Show Intro

Where we left off from Season 3:

HBO Season 3 Recap: Politics of Power (25:01)

Just to cover briefly from the video and the Season 3 Finale:

The Starks

- Jon Snow has made it back to Castle Black, but he's in bad shape. Not only has he been shot by the love of his life, Ygritte, with multiple arrows but he has also been clawed by a Wildling's eagle.

- The Red Wedding has claimed Catelyn Stark, Robb Stark, Talisa Stark, and Unborn Baby Stark. As well as a slew of bannermen. And forever begins our hate of the tune "Rains of Castamere", Roose Bolton, and every Frey we come across. The last we see of The King of the North, his head has been replaced with his direwolves' and he is being paraded around outside of The Twins where Arya can see. To be noted though, Catelyn's Uncle "The Blackfish" escaped and her brother Edmure is alive but held prisoner by the Freys.

- Arya Stark, who was witness to part of the Red Wedding after arriving with The Hound, is still with The Hound. Upon riding out of the Twins, with the help of The Hound, she stabs to death a Frey soldier bragging about the Red Wedding. We see her holding the Braavosi coin and saying the words "Valar Morghulis".

- Sansa Stark is now Sansa Lannister. She has also learned of the death of majority of her family. And with Littlefinger having sailed without her, is pretty much as hopeless as it can get.

- Bran Stark is headed North of the Wall with his crew of Hodor, Meera Reed, and Jojen Reed. They gained passage with the help of Sam and Gilly. This is after he just BARELY misses Jon Snow and helps him get away from the Wildlings by warging into his direwolf.

- Rickon Stark has just split up from Bran and Co. With Osha, he is traveling elsewhere in the hopes that they can keep the Stark name alive.

The Lannisters

- Tyrion, as said above, is now married to Sansa Stark by order of his father, Tywin Lannister. And feeling some heat from his favorite whore, Shae as a result.

- Joffrey Baratheon (Lannister) is still sitting atop the Iron Throne. But it is clear that the real rule sits with his Grandfather and Hand of the King, Tywin Lannister. He is to be married to Margaery Tyrell, widow of Renly Baratheon.

- Ceresi Lannister, who is set to marry Loras Tyrell but claims she will not, is as salty as ever. She continues to fiercely defend her children despite their overwhelming faults.

- We find out at the Small Council meeting that Tywin Lannister is the man who orchestrated the Red Wedding. He has named Roose Bolton the Warden of the North until Tyrion's future child with Sansa is ready to rule.

- Jaime Lannister has made it back to Kings Landing with Brienne of Tarth. Less a hand and barely recognizable, we last see him with Ceresi in her chamber.

The Greyjoys

- Theon Greyjoy/Reek is being tortured at the hands of the Bastard of Bolton (Ramsay Snow) and Winterfell, which he captured, is in ruins. And it's safe to say that Theon is a little bit "less of a man" at this juncture. At least physically. And he has now taken on the name Reek.

- Yara Greyjoy, after receiving her brother's manhood in a box from Ramsay Snow, is sailing up to the Dreadfort (Hold of the Boltons) and going to get her brother back. Despite her father's objections.

The Baratheons

- Stannis Baratheon discovers from Davos (who is being taught to read by Stannis' daughter, Shireen) that the Night's Watch has requested help from the realm to defend it from the Others.

- Gendry (Bastard of Robert Baratheon) has been set free by our favorite smuggler become Lord, Davos Seaworth, to save him from "the red witch" Melisandre who intends to use his blood for her
"blood magic".

The Targaryens

- After sending in Daario, Ser Jorah, and Grey Worm into Yunkai to help free the slaves within, Daenerys Targaryen liberates Yunkai and is greeted by it's former slaves who call her "Mhysa" (means Mother). She has all three of her dragons, growing fastly, and a large army to her back. She is also joined by Ser Barristan Selmy, former Kingsguard to the Baratheons.

Other Things to Note:

- There is a major casting change for Dany's companion, Daario Naharis. Ed Skrein has been replaced with Michiel Huisman, reportedly due to "scheduling conflicts". Skrein on the left, Huisman (new Daario) on the right.

- The Mountain (Gregor Clegane) has been recast for the 3rd time. Icelandic actor Hafthor Julius Bjornsson is taking the role. The Mountain was previously played by Conan Stevens (two episodes in Season 1) and Ian Whyte in Season 2. This is what the "new" Mountain will look like:

- Not nearly as major, but there are rumors that Tommen Baratheon (Joffrey's little brother) has been recast. Supposedly Charles Dean-Chapman will take the role (he played one of the Lannister squires killed in Season 3).

can't wait for season 4!

Just recently caught up on the series. Was pissed at what happened at the Red Wedding.

It must've been grueling to find such a dead ringer for Skrein like that, it's uncanny how much Huisman looks like him.

I notice in that pic of Arya and Sandor that she has Needle back.

four inches shorter than both other "Mountain" actors.

It's going to be confusing with all the recast on that one character.

He's definitely a million times more Mountain looking IMO than the actor who played him in Season 2 at Harrenhal.
