This dude is a boss! He explains and shows why the G2 RIP does not meet the FBI standard and why the FBI standards even exist. This is well worth the watch.

Can't watch it just yet, but will certainly get around to it.

I am fascinated by this round. Not at all with buying it, shooting it, or carrying it, but by the overwhelming amount of support I see from people that apparently have no business owning firearms.

Just owning this ammo appears to be a liability, and yet there are mouth breathers filling up public forums with posts about how incredible the tests look and how they can't wait to get their hands on it.

+1

People will continue to try to reinvent the wheel, but modern hollowpoints use technology that's been around a long time. There's a reason they are monumentally chosen over everything else.

I disagree. I mean, we got to "modern" HP rounds by continuous testing and improving. I hope we can continue to test and improve rounds, who knows what someone may come up with in the future.

I just think this particular round, and specifically its marketing campaign with all things considered, is not the "improvement" I am looking for.

I see your point.

I guess I meant to say is that a high bar is set and there is a standard for a reason. All the marketing hype behind the G2 was really annoying. Just because something looks intimidating doesn't mean it's going to totally destroy the competition in the real world.

But I do like that companies are at least trying. I just wish it didn't feel like they used producers from Spike TV to do the advertising for this thing.

They appeal to a certain demographic. The ones you constantly hear talking in public about what they have. The ones that dont pass up the chance to say " I got something in my truck that will take care of it".

I relate them to the hunters that always go out and buy the newest gadget. Doesnt matter if its practical or not, as long as you look or sound cool when you talk about it

Solid point, sir. I guess their advertising method works for the majority of people who aren't super firearm enthusiasts.

good video.

I appeciate the info.

I have not had the oppurtunity to set up the and video the testing of appropriate rounds for home defense yet but I plan on doing so with this next batch of hogs we trap/kill.

I will have to make sure to add some shoulders or hams on the target to simulate the forearms of an attacker brandishing a weapon.

I think the Spike TV-type marketing hype and just the name could be very detrimental in court. "RIP". "Radically invasive". G2 RIP!!!!
