Do I need to change the lines on my reels, they have been inside the whole time?

Absolutely. You don't want that to be the reason you lose a fish.

Yes, and good luck. The fish have become smarter in the last 8 years.

Nah...it supports the embellishments / fish story / lies you can tell about the whopper that was so huge that he broke your damned line!!!!

Depends on if you bought the lifetime warranty
You'd probably need to make sure the reels even still work

Ha, I freshwater fish, so I don't care what my line condition is. Hardly ever bass fish. I change my line when I run out.

You boys love spending that money.

Has anyone chimed in on this yet? Yes.

In the spring of 2012 I went redfishing with two buddies. One hadn't fished in a couple of years. Not only did he lose several fish from poor line, his old rod snapped in half.

Lines must be reasonably fresh.

Jesus. If my line is over 9 months old I'm starting to feel pretty irresponsible.
