Going Camping - need advice

I am trying to go camping next weekend and need a little advice. I live in the Lafayette area so we are willing to go north up to Kisatchie in Alexandria or south to cypremore point or anywhere in between.
I've been mountain biking at some parks before but never actually camped overnight. We want to just hike around for a while and set up a camp where we can find a good spot. Not really looking to set up a tent near other people, but not really sure how that works.
If anyone has some good spots to check out or advice I would appreciate it.

Lake Fausse has some primative camping only canoe accessible.

ETA: No map. Anyway I'd camp on the other side (non lake) of Twin Brdiges road. There are a couple of roads, that go down to creek bends and there're some great camping spots.

One of my favorite spots is Kincaid Recreation Area. It has access to multiple trails for hiking/biking/running/etc. There is also a beach on the lake.
There is a regular camping area with utilities or there is a primitive area. Nothing where you will be able to find an established camping spot away from other people though. That is unless you want to head down the Wild Azalea trail and make your own spot somewhere.

If there as a way to PM Id tell you about a key secluded beach we camp at...but dont want to overrun it with the average OTer.

I've seen this at Kisatchie I think when biking. So I may start here and try some other areas as I get comfortable.
From what I'm reading primitive camping might be a good start and if I want to be more secluded it just up to me to find a spot I want?

And Nado Jenkins - heading to Fausse Point next month and staying in the cabins with the family, but will definitely check out primitive area while I'm there

Yeah you are probably better off getting started at the established primitive camping areas.

Keep in mind that Fausse Point DOES have bears.
