Freshman Brooklyn (Tuesday, 9:30 p.m. ET/PT), which won a Golden Globe for best comedy series, will be back for its second season. Mindy (returning April 1, 9 p.m. ET/PT) and The Following (Monday, 9 p.m. ET/PT) are going into their third seasons, while New Girl (Tuesday, 9 p.m. ET/PT) will start its fourth.

"These shows are some of the best and acclaimed series on television, with influential, culture-driving stars, and some of the best, most creative talent behind the camera," Fox executives Kevin Reilly and Joe Earley said in a statement accompanying the announcement. "All four are core assets within our 2014-15 portfolio of content, and we're really happy to bring them back to our Fox fans for another season."

Previously, Sleepy Hollow was picked up for its second season, Glee for its sixth and Bones for its 10th. Other renewals are yet to be announced.

Critically acclaimed comedy Raising Hope will end its four-season run with a special one-hour farewell event Friday, April 4 (9:00-9:30/9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT). The series finale kicks off with the all-new episode “How I Met Your Mullet” (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), in which guest star Lesley Nicol (“Downton Abbey”) plays Jimmy (Lucas Neff) and Sabrina’s (Shannon Woodward) new maid. Then, in “The Father Daughter Dance” (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), Virginia’s (Martha Plimpton) dad (guest star Jeffrey Tambor, “Arrested Development”) returns to Natesville with a big surprise for her and Burt (Garret Dillahunt), including a musical performance by Kenny Loggins (guest-starring as himself).

“On behalf of myself, Greg Garcia and Raising Hope’s amazing cast and crew, I would like to thank our audience for tuning in and supporting us over the last four seasons,” said executive producer Mike Mariano. “We planned our Season Four finale with this possibility in mind, and hope our loyal fans enjoy the way we’ve chosen to say goodbye to the Chances and to Natesville. Thanks again, and we’ll see you in syndication.”

Good for Brooklyn 99 and New Girl. I watch The Mindy Project but I don't generally like it as much as I do the first two. It's entertaining enough to keep me from dropping it.

As for Raising Hope, I dropped it long ago. It got truly awful and painful to watch, so I don't really care.

I like Raising Hope. Burt and Virginia are great characters.

Did they mention the new show Enlisted?

The crapfest that is The Following is going into its third season, but Almost Human is borderline and of course Firefly only got one season from Fox.

This.

The Following was fun last season, but it just a bad show now.

Almost Human is the best buddy cop production since Lethal Weapon 3.

I think had Firefly come out in this era it would have been given a much longer leash.

these days with cable, netflix, etc having eroded so much of the major nets viewership they are much more ready to give shows that have a consistent demo tuning in a break to get them enough episodes for syndication.

i'm currently watching firefly and i officially don't get it. conceptually it is pretty cool, but in execution it falls pretty flat, imho. it's often cheesy and needs a lot of refining

of course i don't often get into those sci fi/fantasy shows that are syndicated, except my boy briscoe county, jr
