I don't remember it (too young) but I have shown it to clients to stress picking up DIR tools earlier.

Don't remember it,but Mrs. Couyon and I spent a great afternoon there at the gardens back in January. We want to go back when the flowers are blooming. Beautiful place. Also went to Avery Island that day.

The funny thing is I was 15 and that trip there a week or two before was the FIRST time I took a boat out by myself....
Uncle had a place on a gully about 3-4 miles upstream and the parents of one of the kids with us - there were 3 boys all roughly same age - that it wasn't safe for us to take boat by ourselves....
uncle said it's a straight shot down the gully there are NO other boats... and then the lake... can't get lost.. there is a well near the mouth of gully knucklehead has been there plenty he knows his way....
shallow small lake.. NOTHING can go wrong...
when that news story broke.... we all laughed.. but... one kids mom was all.. I KNEW IT I KNEW IT...

Speaking of salt domes anyone one here know if the one off of hwy 70 has had any activity of note lately. I think that damn thing has the potential to be catastrophic.

spend a pretty good bit of time in the other 3 mines near there and think about this often.
Cargill (the mine on Avery Island) had a pretty bad water leak a couple years ago that formed several large sink holes on the island. They had to shut down mining operations and get crews of grouters down there to try to stop the leak before it dissolved too much salt and really fricked things up.
