I want more LA breweries to embrace the French Saison and more beligan style beers

Louisiana is usually different. Would like to see the craft scene do the same

I think it's just because many South LA people are skeptical. With Parish we were willing to believe they could brew an upper tier DIPA because we'd had their offerings and saw potential there. Great Raft came out of nowhere and suddenly is getting thrown around as being better than Pliny (admittedly shite ), Ghost, Abrasive, and everything. Plus there's totally some regional bias to it. I personally hope the beer is as amazing as they say. I'm skeptical, sure, but I really want it to be.

I'm picking up what you're laying down, friend. I totally agree with you. I'm just wondering why anyone would shite on someone else's opinion of something, when the other person is more qualified on the subject at hand.

Because he's being a little pre-mature ejaculating shite stirrer about it.

Definitely agree. Something to hope for I suppose. Which seems to be part of the fun in this craft beer world. Anticipating the next new thing.

Devil's advocate, but what if he earnestly believes that? After all, he DID have them side by side.

FWIW, my skepticism comes from him describing Ghost as smelling like a fart.

Who opens a beers, thinks it smells like fart, and still decides to drink it?

Premature?

When is he exactly supposed to comment on the beers when he's drinking them side by side?

Well, that's fine if he does. It's just a pretty esoteric discussion at this point. I've seen a lot of preliminary hype eventually fall flat. The beer will eventually speak for itself. I hope it's great.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he say that about the first one but his second one was nothing but rave?

His exact quote about his second bottle of GiTM:

quote:

In fairness everyone said the same to bbrou when he was raving about Ghost before anyone had it.

ETA: if he would have said it smelled like cat piss he would have had more credibility.

Dude, you didn't piss on B when he reviewed GitM before you'd had it. Come on, this is silly.

A fresh keg of Dirt Wolf on draft was one of the 5 best things I tasted my last trip to NC. Period. I've had it since then from the bottle and it really disappointed me in comparison to my memory.

I'm just going to assume I'm missing some running joke.

IF NOT: second best?? Huh. What's better?
