I mentioned this last night in the game thread, but it looks like EG has steadily been losing weight throughout the season. He appears worlds thinner now than in October, and I can tell in terms of fitness and quickness. If he continues to stay healthy, I think he will begin to look more like the player we saw with LAC.

He and Evans can coexist on the court. From a salary point, it's not ideal. But we've seen in the past few games that Evans and Gordon can be on the court together. Evans has been passing the ball very well, and Gordon has been playing surprisingly well off-ball IMO.

Regardless of what happens with the draft and on the trade block this summer, we're going to be a damn fun team to watch next year. I want to see Gordon continue to work hard this offseason to get in even better shape. My only complaint with his improving game is his handle. It's almost like he doesn't watch the ball into his hands when receiving passes. He needs to take note from Tyreke (sick handles brah). My other complaints have diminished. When he gets the touches he deserves he's not that selfish. His two 4th quarter passes to Ajinca last night were very good looks. Only one counted as an assist, but both were nice passes. I think his confidence as a teammate is growing. In turn, this confidence allows him to look for several options when he has the ball - spot up 3s, penetrating layups, an assist somewhere between the two, or a rotational pass if nothing is there. He can be a good player for this team, and I think he's showing signs of growing into the roster.

I hope Monty doesn't go back to using Evans as the 25mpg bench man next fall. The Jrue/Evans/Gordon/Ryno/Davis lineup may evolve from a concept "finishing 5" to a lineup that stays on the floor for extended periods of time next season. If we can find a defensive scheme that works for that 5 man unit, I don't see why they can't play together in more situations than the last six minutes of the game.

We have a lot to look forward to. Our team has several exciting pieces. This summer will be a great opportunity for our guys to build more chemistry, and if we get a new coach in the meantime, even better. Let's get healthy and win some ball games. I hope I'm forced to pay $30 for upper deckers by this time next season

Good post. I still hope Monty is gone by next season but he's not as terrible as we make him. Problem is, he's an $8 million player not $16 million.

Tyreke is being paid like he has a $4 million, 20 MPG player ahead of him, not a $15 million 32 MPG or even an $8 million 28 MPG player ahead of him.

I'm glad Gordon is healthy and playing well, but the Tyreke signing pretty much signaled Demps' intentions.

Sure, we know Dell's intentions. But those intentions may not come to fruition until a year from now or later. In the meantime I think he can become an integral member of this roster if he keeps putting in the work.

Nice post. EG has had a decent year with some inconsistencies but if he stays in shape and healthy plus with Jrue back hr could be due for a good year

It's probably helped that he's played more than 16 games this year.

In the 4 games reke has started:
~40mpg
31/63 fg (49.2%)
5/14 3pt fg(35.7%)
20/24 ft (83.3%)
7.8 rpg
7 apg
3.3 topg
.8 spg
.3 bpg
21.8 ppg

EG's stats those 4 games ~33mpg (one really bad game vs. clippers screwed his #s up)
21/45 fg (46.7%)
9/16 3pt (56.3%)
10/10 ft (100%)
2.3 rpg
4 apg
2 topg
1.8 spg
15.3 ppg

AD during those 4 games (~35mpg)
29/54 fg (53.7%)
1/1 3pt (100%)
22/29 ft (75.9%)
8 rpg
1.8 apg
1.5 topg
.8 spg
1 bpg
20.3 ppg

shocking? not so much imo.

All of the NBA players lose weight as the season goes on, they bulk up in the offseason to be able to shed some weight and not be pencil thin.. EG is obviously a little different coming off of injuries but he has looked better.

I think Tyreke is putting a stop to that right now, he's playing great and has said he's more comfortable starting. We can't pay a guy 11 million a year to ride the pine half the game. Monty has to have figured that out after 60 games right?

I said the same thing if not being able to move Gordon. Him learning to move off ball for 3pt shooting and cuts he will be great for the team because watching him dribbles with his shins all game is horrible. I think he needs to learn to take a lesser role and he is not the man of the team anymore he was in LAC and I think he is learning that.

OMG. Positive post in PT? About effin time.

Season is shite this year, but injuries never really allowed us to see what we have and what had a chance to develop. Yeah Monty sucks, but he will probably be back next year. Hopefully he learns what lineups work best when we have a full squad quickly and we can get back to averaging 100+ points per game and our defense can hold teams to 92 and below.

Numbers don't lie right? Makes you wonder why these 3 weren't playing together all along. Of course not counting injuries each have suffered along the way.

Monty had an unhealthy addiction to Aminu and Stiemsma.
