Go see the old GE Steam Turbine Facility. Spent some time myself in Albany.

It sucked.

They have a couple of cool places downtown- a distillery, and a brewery. Theres an old English pub there from the 1700's.

Both are next to each other and are pretty cool. Beyond that, not much to do.

Grew up there, but have not been back since 1995. 20 years is a long time, so I am sure it has changed, but there is not much to do. It will have your typical restaurants and bars you find any where. June is not the most ideal time, no horse racing in Saratoga, but I would get out a bit from Albany. Saratoga Springs is nice or maybe head up to Lake George. You can go to Troy, the home of Uncle Sam :). The capital is fun to check out and there is an observatory in one of the govt buildings that gives a nice view of the area. 2 days is not much time, so just eat at Applebees and call it a day

Albany fricking blows. Good luck. If you can sneak away, you can drive an hour up to Lake George, but there isn't much to do there.

Edit: Cooperstown is under 1.5 hours away. Probably the best thing you can do from Albany.

I went to High School in Saratoga Springs. Great place to visit in June. Check the schedule for the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), there's always great concerts in the Summer. The bar and restaurant scene in Saratoga is outstanding. Wishing Well restaurant is nearby and worth the short drive.

Thanks for the info.

I looked online, but there is not much. Thinking about just staying in Saratoga Springs.

Isn't Albany one of the oldest cities in the country? If you're are into historical stuff I'm sure they have a lot of that you can go see....
