Getting present for my brother and trying to decide between a Winchester X pump 12 ga. and a Remington 870 express pump 12 ga.. Anybody have any experience with one or both of them?

Out of those two I'd got with the Winchester SXP. Now if you had said 870 Wingmaster instead of express it woulda been wingmaster hands down. Dang fine shotguns

I'm a 870 kinda guy when it comes to pumps. My friend has both, he hates 870 compared to the Winchester.

870 is the most widely sold gun in America. I love it.

that being said, I never understood why more people don't shoot Winchester. they are really good guns and the price is always right.

the winchester my be a smoother action, but as mentioned above the 870 has more accessories available. i bet it is the most popular pump shotgun in the US.

You can't go wrong with the 870. There are so many aftermarket parts out there that will allow your brother to customize it to how he wants it. shite, there are so many ways to customize them these days two 870's will look like completely different shotguns.

Just to clarify, he said 870 Express. Vastly different than the Wingmaster everyone grew up with

I'd put mine up against any other shotgun made today. The only thing if FTE'd was a 3" that I put in it just fricking around. It'll shoot anything, faster than anything made today. It is just a mechanical beast. It is an awesome gun. I honestly wouldn't trade it for $1M
