Obviously, I'm biased, but what do you think about the Talking Heads?

I've been through some phases. I'm 31. I've been through every kind of phase I could have been through. But nothing has hit me as hard as the Talking Heads.

One of the all time greats. Remain in Light is an absolute masterpiece.

Remain in light is not only a masterpiece, but is a cosmic "How did you do that?"

I really enjoy them although I haven't listened to a huge amount of their music at all. The only album by them that I own is the live album Stop Making Sense. It has most of the big hits that I really wanted. What other albums would you recommend checking out if I wanted to expand my knowledge of them?

I've actually listened to a lot more of David Byrne's solo stuff than I have the actual Talking Heads. Rei Momo. Feelings. Look into the Eyeball. Grown Backwards. These are the albums I have. I find that some of the songs on the albums are absolutely fantastic, and some are simply total trash. It's either some kind of extreme for me.

ETA: Ok. So I guess I should buy Remain in Light.

As far as Talking Heads, so far, Fear of Music, Speaking in Tounges, Remain in Light and True Stories are all worth extended listening so far as I can tell. I've listened to 77, Little Creatures and they're ok.

Because I'm bored, my Talking Heads album ranking (not counting live albums):

1. Remain in Light
2. More Songs About Buildings and Food
3. Speaking in Tongues
4. '77
5. Fear of Music

Frankly I've never paid much attention to that post-Speaking in Tongues stuff, so I can't really rank them

My favorite is More songs about buildings and food...

I like them a lot, but probably respect them more than I actually listen to them...

Talking Heads are not only one of my favorite bands, but I think it's the only band the Music Board can collective agree on

Great band. I continue to be amazed that RISD alum could turn out to be pretty funky.

David Byrne is one strange individual but the talking heads would never have been as great as they are without his unique style. Great band

I agree with Smails, never seen anyone bash the heads.
