How can ReSpawn (TitanFall) take over the FPS market going forward?

Hi Xbox & PC frans,
I'd like to hold an intelligent, non-flaming discussion about how Respawn can actually turn TitanFall in the definitive COD killer and possibly win over the BF fans as well. Then set themselves up for multiple top titles going forward. This is not a 720/900/1080p conversation. This is not a PS4 vs XBone thread. This is not a Master Race vs peons thread. This is not a "I've never even played TitanFall, but I feel my opinion based upon watching some TitanFall hate videos is enough to weigh in" thread
Before I get into the following questions or subjects prodding their current product, let me say this: I 100% plan on pre-ordering TitanFall , Day1, having it downloaded, updated, and ready for me to jump in Day 1
Topics of Discussion:
BOTS.
Do they take away from the multiplayer experience or add to it?
Some say they are useless mindless non-playable characters that have no impact on the actual gameplay. Also, when you look at your score at the end of the round....pretty mehh seeing that your human vs human interaction kills were something like 6-2.
Some will say that they are useful for the simple fact that the more you kill early on in a match, the faster you get your Titan. And we all know the first team with a Titan on just about any game mode has a distinct advantage. At the same time, the more bots you kill while in your Titan the faster you get your Damage Core.
Should Bots be removed in future installments to allow for more players on a map at once? Should there be bot-less game modes? How should ReSpawn handle the Bots in future installments?
TITANS
Ahhh. The HOT topic behind this entire idea of an FPS! TITANS. The one factor that will either make you fall in love with TitanFall or turn you away. Currently, with the frequency of obtaining a Titan and the amount of Titans on the map at once, does it take away from the overall gameplay?
Titans are what sets this game out from other FPS titles. No they aren't over powered. No, one Titan cannot win or lose you any game mode (minus LTS). No, Titans don't necessarily dominate pilots, because the pilot has the ability to cloak, and titans can't see cloaked pilots.
BUT on the other side of the fence....anyone and everyone gets a Titan. It takes 0, 0 skill. to earn one. Just 3 minutes. Do you realize you could put the game on pause, go take a dump, grab a drink, and come back and you would have a Titan ready to go? You don't have to kill a single human enemy, not a single one, and you get a Titan every 3 minutes.
Going forward, what does ReSpawn do to alter the Titans in the overall multiplayer gameplay? Limit the # of Titan's a team can have on a map at one time? Set it to where the only way to earn a Titan is by capturing objectives or killing other human players (pilots)?
Competitive vs Casual? Skill vs No Skill?
Based upon the BETA and everything you know: is this game competitive or casual? Does it take skill, practice, and experience to succeed or can any Tom, Dick, and Harry from COD or BF or any FPS background, pick this game up and have the same level of success?
Are there competitive moments in this game? Absolutely, when your team is neck and neck with only a few points or kills to go against a quality opponent. It's as intense as any FPS I've played. And yes, it absolutely takes some time to adjust to this faster paced game with wall running, wall jumping, cloaking, and the use of Titans on the map. Are the guns fairly balanced? Yes, shotgun could use a slight tweak, but other than that with the amount of guns we had at our disposal in the BETA is seemed balanced. I wasn't getting "one-shotted" hardly ever.
BUT. Let's no neglect a few things here. I touched on this in the last topic, with the Titan spawns. Now we will dive a bit deeper and this topic alone will probably piss some folks off. I'm sorry.
There is hardly any recoil in the weapons on the BETA. You shoot lasers with that assault rifle. And again, back to the "I can pause the game, go take a dump and make dinner, then come back to a Titan" aspect. I don't like it. There should be effort and skill involved in earning a Titan. Only the 2-3 best players on each team should be able to earn a Titan per match. And i'll revert back to another previous subject. If I end a game with only 6-10 human kills for a decent game and only 10-15 human kills for a good game. How can this keep the attention for the highly competitive, kill hungry, slayers?
So, what does ReSpawn do to balance out this game for both the casual gamer and the highly competitive gamer?
Again, I know I'm drawing a lot of assumptions from a week long BETA that was limited to 3 game modes, 1 titan, and about 4 weapons, but I'm excited for this game and I truly hope for my sake alone this is THE NEW FPS we've all been waiting for.

I certainly wouldn't set the odds very high, but there's always hope right?

Haven't played it but looks awesome
Question: were the bots only to fill out teams in the beta or will they be permanent?

I'll chime in based on my time with PC beta. I think they need to incorporate more person vs person battles. Have sections of the map safe from titans where you can really take advantage of the free movement. That was the most enjoyable part of the game for me.
I do think things get super messy with a bunch of titans on the map titan vs titan fights were not very fun (but more gear and options later on may make it more enjoyable). I think AI as it is, is just a complete waste. They either need to make them somewhat of a threat or get rid of them. Not make them super powerful, but you shouldn't be able to take 5 of them head on and win without dying.
My 2 cents.

As far as I know, they're a permanent inclusion.

Without having played it but after watching many streams, I offer my humble opinion that the bots took away from the experience it seemed.
They were literally mindless fodder.

In normal matches I think bots are fine, however there have to be modes without bots especially competitive playlists.

A good competitive shooter needs gun balance, map balance, and emphasis on skill. To me only the assault rifle felt strong, so I wouldn't mind a buff to the SMG. I don't have any complaints about the Beta maps we will see the rest when it launches.
As for emphasis on skill, I think its there minus the bots. Honestly gun recoil has very little to do with player skill. Better players will still be more accurate with low recoil weapons than low skilled players will. I'm perfectly happy with everyone getting a titan considering better players get them more often.

I agree
and from what i'm hearing the plan as ReSpawn has hinted at is at some point to release an update/patch allowing players to setup custom multiplayer matches/servers. That way you can choose how many bots are on the map, how many titans are on the map, etc.
that would be brilliant for data mining alone. Gather up what custom game types, setting, and styles are the most popular with the community. Then implement that into the next installment.
Nice MO, couldn't have said it better myself.
As we all know the ReSpawn team was created from the outcasts of Infinity Ward. And MW2 was the last COD where I thought the gun balance was perfect. There wasn't a gun on that game where in a 1 v 1 gun battle you didn't at least have the opportunity to win the gun battle with better shot placement and accuracy. Since MW2, the upped the amount of bullets a player could survive from shotguns, smg's, assault rifles.....yet didn't for sniper rifles. Leaving it impossible to win even a short range gun battle vs a talented sniper impossible.

And also, bad players are still bad with a Titan.

doesn't mean they have to be in their Titan's tho. They could have the Titan on guard mode as a body guard slaying any enemy pilot getting near them as they hide in a corner.
how is it fair they are that bad and earned a Titan?
my point being. regardless of their lack of skill. no player should be able to pause the game and 3 minutes later have a Titan at your disposal.
You should have to kill 3 enemy pilots or cap a few points.

I would rather a reward being a Titan denial where you can cancel out someone's calldown. That's all I would all game.

Leave out dogs. That's it. Game over COD

much more satisfying killing a pilot

I get that. It doesn't bother me either way. The auto-pilot titans are easy to take down. I probably like this game for different reasons than others, because my gaming style is about 80/20 casual/competitive.

I would like to see the minion AI increased. I could melee a whole room of them, one at a time, while the others just watched and waited their turn.

I'm a minion serial killer, I'm addicted to slaughtering them every chance I get
