How does he follow up ROTY?

Cy Young? Is that too high too soon?

12-6 2.19 ERA 187 K's 0.89 WHIP.

Easily my favorite non Cardinal pitcher in baseball.

I'd say 13-16 wins, mid to high 2 ERA, 200+ K's is easily doable.

the kid is a beast

I don't think he wins the cy young because the voters are still behind the times as far as stats go plus clayton and the dodgers are going to be too much to over come.

He's going to be fun to watch, especially since he made Chris Johnson his bitch

I would probably go with the fact that Kershaw is obviously the best pitcher in baseball.

i thought this ended when they gave it to King Felix with a 13-12 record

Might have the nastiest stuff in all of baseball. It's scary that he's only going to get better

Did he have 30 to lose? I mean is weight that important for a pitcher?

He's incredible, but I am extremely weary of him this year.

He lost a shitton of weight (240 to 215). I don't know what that could do to his mechanics or velocity, but it's really concerning when a guy who had as much success as him completely changes their body.

Then again, the lost weight may make him that much better.

I feel the same way and I think the weight loss is going to affect him negatively. I do think he's still going to be very good, but it won't be that dominant bulldog everyone saw last year.

I don't know that I"m ready to definitively state he'll decline, but I do think 215 is a little light for him. 225 is a great weight for him. 240 was probably a bit too big.

Of course it is. You need to find the right balance of mobility and durability.

I don't know if he can win the Cy Young award. It might be too soon for that. I still think he'll be very good.

Unless you're Bartolo Colon and can pitch at 5'11 300.

I was honestly wondering if the U had a shot to beat the Marlins.

They're brutal. If Jose gets to 13 wins they should build a statue of him.

They aren't as bad as people make them out to be.

They have a stud:

Stanton

They have solid vets:

Salty
Furcal
Garret Jones
Jeff Baker

They have up and coming talent:

Ozuna
Yelich
Marisnick

Guys like Greg Dobbs, Casey McGehee, Brian Bogusevic are decent bench bats.

They have some solid arms in the pen.

i could see Fernandez winning 15 games easily

is that what it takes to be a solid vet

they're going to be among the worst in baseball at all of those positions

their pitching is all right, but they'll be lucky to score 525 runs

Salty is going to regress hard, and he wasn't fantastic to begin with.

At least those guys can hit big league pitching.

the Mets will be worse than the Marlins

no way...especially if the mets get stephen drew.

mets are better on offense, defense, and pitching.

the bullpen is bad, but there's still wheeler, niese, gee with syndaargard et al waiting in the wings

lagares and d'arnaud alone make the defense better

then you have wright plus a few other okay players like granderson, chris young, murphy

i think the mets would have a chance at contending for a wild card spot if harvey was healthy
