I don't care what color your skin is, who or what you like to date, what god you worship or don't.

Why is this an issue in 2014? And one for sports radio to deal with?

because espn and sports in general are not interested in sports anymore. It's about being politically correct. ESPN is bastion of left wing douchery. They tried their best to make the Michael Sam thing an issue, and were very disappointed that it wasn't.
Also, Olbermann came from ESPN. The biggest left wing douche out there.

If Jason Collins hasn't scored a point this season doesn't that make the rules anti gay?

I heard Cowherd this morning.

Sports radio hosts really don't have the credibility to discuss these topics to begin with.

But, his argument is a true reflection of the success of the narrative being promoted.

a.) Gay marriage being presented as a "rights issue", when clearly it was not (large majority supported equivalent rights).

b.) Bakers not wanted to actively participate in a gay wedding being equated to a refusal of service for simply being gay.

There is no question that the narrative is winning the battle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sports Journalists have the following ingredients in their mental makeup:

Journalism: 95%
Sports: 5%

In journalism you learn to afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted. So, they see their job as being to champion the cause of the persecuted. It's much more important to them than sports.

This is another example of why I mute my TV when watching sports, nor do I listen to sports radio.

For me, sports is entertainment and an "escape". Now the liberal douches have taken over this aspect of life and are doing what liberal douches do when they own something: ruining it.

This should come as no surprise to anyone. We, as a society, no longer have an "outlet" to get away from anything anymore.

I wonder how much longer TV will be worth watching. The commercials get longer and more frequent. The narrative overlides the advertised subject matter. Mute is your friend then its the off button.

I've been doing this for years myself. Its amazing how much more enjoyable a game can be without a couple of dolts telling me what I already know.

Correct. Since 4 out of 5 journalists label themselves liberal they can't help but be "do gooders" no matter what they are reporting.

I hear you, golfer.

I watch football, because I like the sport. I'm not a fan of Tom Brady because he's straight. I admire his abilities as a player.

I could give a flying fart in a tornado whether a player is straight, gay, or whatever. It has nothing to do with the game or his abilities.

Please let it go and give us all a damned break. Enough already.

I was raised as sports were the place where people put personal and political beliefs aside and played or cheered as a team.

Sadly this seems to not be possible thanks to media influence.

If the Nets opponents don't let Jason Collins score they are anti-gay

Whoever passes on Michael Sam in the draft even if the Texans pass on him with the number one overall pick...you guessed it anti gay

I like Olbermann. What i don't like are the Mike and Mike types who aim at 12 year olds. I don't mind those who are socially conscious and live in the real world.
