I'm not sure what you're asking.

I think he's asking what devices he can buy that would allow him to browse the internet on his tv. Both apple tv and Chromecast will require another device, laptop or another apple product like an ipad, iphone, or ipod. Right?

Ya, I was assuming thats what he was trying to do. I dont know any device that will turn a non smartv into one without a computer of some sort.

Yeah, I don't know of any devices that come just come with a straight up browser other than an xbox or playstation. Something like that.

Yeah the best I can think of for a non Smart TV is an old Laptop or desktop tower connected to it. I've done that in the past to stream games. Had an older desktop I wasn't using and just hooked it up and ran a wireless keyboard/mouse from my recliner.

And now I have a Mac Mini with an HDMI output. That thing is so small that I can just unplug it and move it to the TV and have a 46 inch monitor.

To the OP, maybe look into an older version of those. Might be able to find one cheap and they make for a great little computer and streaming device.

As others have said, using and HDMI cable, just connect a computer/laptop with an HDMI connection to an HDMI connection on your HDTV and switch to the associated HDMI channel on your TV. At that point the TV is serving as a monitor for the computer. At that point obviously you are just using the browser software on the computer to browse the internet.
