Lawn care: Paging Tigerpaw

It's stopped raining for a few hours and not supposed to rain again till tomorrow afternoon. I just got my shipment of 24-D in yesterday. Can I go spray the clover and weeds in my yard or should I wait till things dry out more and larger window till more rain?
I don't have much closer yet, but some yards are already full of the shite. In 2 weeks I don't want to put down weed n feed, just turf builder.

I usually wait until things are dry. On a related note I just ordered some Celcius WG.

What makes that so much better than 24-D or a weed and feed? Especially at the prices that I saw?

Nothing, I'm going to use it strictly for Virginia Buttonweed. I use 24D/round-up combined to kill shite where no grass is.

Do you double up the 24D to kill grass? I'm hoping it leaves my centipede alone but kills all the clover.

No. You spray something else. Mix chemicals at what they're called to be mixed at. Anything more is wasting chemical.

I'm no expert, but I know one. I don't spray 24D/RUP on anything other than things I want gone.

That's what I've always done but I've heard that since 24D is so cheap, a lot of people double it up and it's still cheaper than round up. I don't play that and just ordered a gallon and half of some strong shite online.
Ima try the 24D on the clover and see what happens. I've heard it's good on clover.

It'll smoke clover, or anything else with a broad leaf. It's not a good idea to try to kill grass with it.

Any opinion on spraying it right now? No rain for a few hours, rain coming again tomorrow afternoon. Wont get a chance to spray again till next Saturday but I want it completely dead because I anticipate fertilizing in 2 weeks.

people but shite and spray without knowing what they are intending to kill. 24D is a broadleaf killer. It should be used as such. at the correct amounts.

I was told last weekend that they both have their purposes so it's good to mix.

Eh. I don't like spraying standing water because of runoff, but it'll probably work fine. My rule was always spray if I thought it wouldn't rain for 5 hours. If your yard is dry I wouldn't think twice.

So you're saying that it does exactly what I wanted it to do and what I bought it for? Furthermore, you state that I should not do what I was hoping another poster was doing? Great news!

Mixing roundup with 2-4D is wasting 2-4D. Roundup kills everything.
Read the label and do what it says. The people who made the stuff know how to make it work best.

No standing water, Im spraying. Thanks for the advice, all.

Why are you wanting to fertilize in 2 weeks, wait till after green up is complete, probably the beginning of April or later, also make sure to use a variety specific fertilizer, not just the random turf builder shite they sell at Home Depot.

Report back in a week. I've never sprayed right after a rain
I see no reason why it wouldn't work though. The suns been out for a while.

yep, and I wasn't trying to be a smartass just letting you know that some of the advice in here is foolish like adding it to round up

Not sure about what you mean here but adding it to round up is pointless. and doubling the dose is pointless too.
Good luck.
