Why don't the liberals and their supporters suggest everyone send in 100% of their earnings and they will split it equally among all Americans? Seems that would be fair and equal.

You could all of the country's wealth, evenly distribute it among everyone, then say "ok, here, you are all equal. Now use the free market to make something of yourself" and in 10 years the same people who were rich before would likely be rich again and the same ones who were poor would be poor again, with a few exceptions.

Because that last word would confuse and/or scare the heck out of the vast majority of lib/dem constituents.

Really? You actually think that?

Is Bill Gates going to able to become the only intelligent 13 year old with access to a computer again? Is there time travel involved in this lame hypothetical?

In this hypothetical, the only class of people more likely to end up in their current situation again than not would be the middle class.

I actually think you would see some of the same rich people get incredibly wealthier if this were to happen. Not because they are smarter than everyone else but because they are willing to do all sorts of shite to garner as much wealth as possible.

I love how ya'll pretend the super wealthy are all hard working, law abiding saints when in fact there are very few of them who do not game the system every bit as badly as ronald reagan's welfare queen. Ya'll hate crony capitalism and rightfully so but that is how the super wealthy get superwealthy, with a few exceptions of course. The old saying about "behind every great fortune there is a great crime" is not simply sour grapes...there is a great deal of truth in it, especially in the United States where some of the greatest fortunes in the history of man have been made. Yes, the wealthy would, for the most part, become wealthy again, especially in a laissezfaire system with not boundaries.....but not because of a genetic pre-disposition to wealth but more because they do not suffer from a conscious and do not care how many people's heads they had to stand on to get what is their's...and most of us do care and will never be wealthy....

Hahahahah you seem to have covered every excuse to make yourself believe that you aren't wealthy because you are noble. Yet you want all the wealth to do what you believe is noble.

Yeah their rich because their evil. I guess poor people are good because their poor? Because the middle class has never stepped on others heads to stay in the middle class.

Poor guy life isn't fair!

What would really happen is the ruling class (politicians, lobbyists, and their friends and families) would all become multimillionaires through their access to government power. Everyone else would be poor because there would be no way to build wealth without government favors.

Greed is a lovely thing to express with the modern day terminology. "Thou shalt not covet " comes in the second book of instructions and nowadays no one knows the existence of it, or what the phrase means.

The system is Government - ergo Government's fault.

The only way to amass wealth apart from government support and cronyism is by supplying value to customers. Where is the crime in that?
quote:

but not because of a genetic pre-disposition to wealth but more because they do not suffer from a conscious and do not care how many people's heads they had to stand on to get what is their's
Again - the only way they get theirs is by providing value and through voluntary exchange with customers. If they provide better value both they and their customers benefit. Who are they supposedly stepping on?

and most of us do care and will never be wealthy
Ever take a look at the wealth of politicians?

I went to see the taxman last night, so I'd like to take this opportunity to tell all politicians to kiss my arse.

I'm beyond fed up regarding this country and the direction its heading.
