Been trying to get into this industry since I graduated college with no luck. Trying to find someone who works in the field and could offer some advice or tweaks to make to my resume to get me an interview.

Where did you graduate from? Do you just have a bachelors? Are you trying to do sales, R&D, process engineering, quality control> etc.?

All of this.
Also, are you willing to move?

Go get a masters. That's my advice.
Or move to Nashville, SF, the research triangle, etc... somewhere with a high concentration of bio-tech firms.
I graduated in BE but do environmental, but my friends in bio-med took one of the routes above. In fact, all of them went to grad school before working.

All of this also.
I graduated in BE also and realized I wouldn't be able to get a job doing what I wanted (R&D) with just a bachelors. I went to NC to get a masters and got an internship in research triangle my first summer.

What year? I'm an '08. Several of us on here. Someone who graduated with me went to Duke for a BioMed Eng masters and is now in SF working. Another went to UCF for a PhD in BioMed Sciences. Couple other classmates are/were at Vandy for masters or PhD work.

Degree is in Electronics Technology, looking to be an Equipment Tech. I'm in Austin, unable to relocate. I'm also looking into the possibility to go back to school for BE.

I also went to Duke for a BioMed Eng masters. I just graduated in December and am currently looking for a job, though. I might go back for the PhD one day, but I want to work for a while first. Did the other person go to Duke recently? I met one girl there from Louisiana.

There seem to be a good number of jobs in Austin, when I was looking, especially for equipment tech.
How long have you been applying? Sometimes it just takes time and dedication. Did you work while getting your degree? It doesn't even need to be in that specific field. You just need to tweak your resume to show that your past work experience can help you for the job to which you are applying.

Nah she graduated with me in '08 and was out of Duke by 2010. My wife and SIL are 2011 BE grads and someone I work with graduated from BE in 2013. It's a small BE world.

Do you have any connections in the job market?

I have connections in the Env Eng job market primarily, what are you looking for? A good friend of mine is in Nashville currently working for a start-up bio-tech firm. I can see if they're looking to hire.
It's also worth reaching out to the BE dept and seeing if they know of anyone hiring. Professors ML, TM and DH all might be able to help (not sure who you did Sr. design with but they might be able to as well).
I have always gotten great recs and a few job offers through BE dept connections...

If you wouldn't mind, I would be interested.

Is that the same as a bio-molecular engineering degree?
ETA: Go to med school.

Yes. We are hi-jacking it.

Sweet. I participated in Dr. Lima's 1252 project this week, btw. Answered some freshman's questions regarding BE, engineering, and my current career. That was fun.

But what do you want to do? Our Biomed. Engineers don't get paid much (they have a masters), but it's a research job at a medical school and the work is interesting. The last engineer we had left recently for Siemens in Nashville and is getting paid a lot more.
