I love college football but....

It's starting to lose it's appeal to me. This problem started with me when EA announced that it would no longer make college football games due to former players wanting to be compensated for the likeness of game characters after them even though no names were used. Millions and millions of people were fans of that game and because of the millions it cost EA, they decided it just wasn't worth making college football games anymore. Even after that, this topic has came up way too many times of players wanting to get paid. I'm sorry but if someone is getting a full ride scholarship, free healthcare, numerous resource, and fame, they are already having it loads better than the majority of college students who have to bust their arse barely making ends meet and even better than alot of hard working non-college student. I have no problem with the fame that comes with these athletes, it's just the greed that is coming along with it that makes me want to retaliate to not being a fan anymore. Couple that with the overly dramatized recruiting of 17 and 18 year old kids and lack of value on commitments, the sport is losing a hold on morals and ethics and those are what made college football to me bettert than the NFL. I could Iist more disturbing things other than the ones I mentioned but this would be too long of a rant.

Gee, it's not like your points are unbelievably one-sided or anything.

Seriously? This actually dulled your interest level in real college football? You must be a 35 year old pedophile that masturbates in your mother's basement.

My phone has been acting up. A computer would have been better typing this. I'll try restarting it after it charges some.

I kind of agree. It's absolutely weird to me how a bunch of 25-45 year old men are following 15-17 year olds around via social media and message boards. It's also weird that many of these kids who came from nothing are so quick to dismiss the value of the scholarships they're getting. Not to mention the fact so many have like 3 kids before their junior year of college. It's just so much of a sham now. So, my passion for college football is waning considerably.
college baseball used to be awesome, but these bats have turned it into a pathetic game. It's like watching a bunch of 9 year olds play on a large field. Just a bunch of waiting for walks and errors.
I can't stand basketball, so no opinion on that.
I guess I'm starting to like the professional sports more and give less of a shite about the college sports. I'm probably more of a MLB fan more than anything else.

I stopped watching all professional sports a few years back and reduced by college viewing to LSU and LSU only.

True though.
OP, I don't care what you do. However, I sympathize to a degree, not the video game part but overall.
Just don't invest as much emotion as you do. Watch the games when they're on and when you go to the stadium...that's it. Don't follow recruiting beyond reading the list in the paper day after NSD. Don't listen to sports talk radio, etc.
Go back to how things used to be before we had the option to follow it full time.

No shite.
All the "handlers" surrounding these college athletes and the fact that so many coaches have to kiss these kids asses to win, just makes it a ridiculous spectacle.
I truly believe between the lawsuits, players wanting to be paid, and safety issues that football won't be any bigger than College basketball or maybe even baseball in about 20 years.

I probably won't quit watching it. It's just losing it's luster to me and judging by the emptying out of stadiums around the country, I am not alone.

Hey now, they don't have basements in BR.
