I have a 24" pathfinder and currently running it bare. We just had our first child and I know that he wont be coming out there often, but when he does, I'd like to have sometype of shade. ok heres the issue, T-top-look badass on a boat increased storage, easier to fish around than bimini, only problem is that my shed will have to be altered significantly to fit it in there. So would a bimini be more practical since its more shade for the lil one and I don't have to fork out $$ to revamp my shed or just suck it up and put one?

Bimini for me. And 75% of the time I don't even bring it with me. I'm sure that will change when I have kids but for now I'd rather not have a top.

Get a folding T-Top. Problem solved.

Not a T-top for inshore. Too much casting. If you had offshore boat, a t-top would be acceptable.

If you want a top, Bimini would be the way to go just to get out of the sun for a while with your family.

T-top for me. I can't stand having to shuffle a rod around the straps/frame of a bimini while reeling in a fish. Bimini will give more shade but will always be in the way while folded and require set up and take down time. T-top is always deployed, gives extra rod storage, place to mount radio antenna and just looks better IMO.

Bimini - I have a 22' Skeeter Center Console and keep it on the boat at all times, not really in the way and there when I need it.

Bimini for us. Cheap and lots of shade when needed. Yes it is cumbersome when it's up, but it's only up when the gf is in the boat or it's raining. Both are rare occasions so it works for us.

The 24" one is kind of small.

I have a T-Top on a 24' and it essentially takes away one fishing spot, but the shade is worth its weight in gold on those hot arse days.

Go for the bimini and put in the quick-remove mounts, they work well. Easy to take off if you want it out the way but usually we'd leave it on and stowed away just in case got caught in a summer squall.

there is a boating forum that has a few hunnered pages on the debate. you will get all the pros and cons there.

I would go with a 4 bow bimini. T-tops look cooler.
