Rouse's Salad Bar -- best bang for your buck

Living just a few blocks away I pick up a salad at least 2-3 times a week.
You get a shitton of spinach and plenty other veggies to choose from. Then you can add turkey, ham, chicken, salmon or imitation crab.
I buy some organic low calorie dressing to keep it healthy. It's usually so much food I can barely finish the meal.
At 5.99 a pound, the most I've ever paid was 5.50. Avoid heavy items like pineapple, grape tomatoes etc.
About as healthy as it gets. On the other hand, if you go to salad bar on magazine you'll pay 10-12 bucks for half amount of food.

I'm the King of Making $9.00 Salads at Rouse's.

Depends on the Rouses. IMO Roberts is the best bang for the buck.

Their turkey tastes like cotton candy. True story. I've been turned off of their salad bar ever since. And they never seem to have Caesar dressing.

I love their salad bar. And last week I was in there and noticed their self-serve hot daily specials so I opted for that. I had a shrimp stuffed bell pepper, dirty rice and a small side of pasta & red gravy for $6 and some change. Can't beat that.

I never get it because that bottled blue cheese dressing they offer doesn't appeal to me. I want a container, a ladle and big chunks of cheese. I don't eat salads for health.

I love Rouse's salad bar. The store in Veterans near Causeway has a nice bar, but that one on Clearview kicks arse.

Clearview ? By Krispy Creme ? I don't know that was updated. The new one on Power is awesome. Also the employees make or break these places.

I'm gonna check it out. All these newer updated stores makes me hate my Rouses even more.

I'm half drunk, but I really thought the salad bar there was pretty legit.

I just can't get the salad bar right. I always put stuff that doesn't go together, or try putting on some bean or mushroom salad and it turns into a mess.

gotta stick to lettuce and relatively dry items. and never pour dressing on it unless youre eating it immediately.
i think salad bars are generally a waste of money because the items i eat are generally really cheap

You can't find a lunch anywhere for 5 bucks these days.
Also, for those who say your rouses suck...which location?
I go to the one on tchoup
