Definitely don't need a four season if you're not going out four seasons. Four season tents are usually for serious winter or borderline mountaineering.

Try outlets at backcountry.com and REI, although it may be overkill for your purposes. Is this for car camping, I'm guessing?

For the most part, but I would like the option to break off the grid if need be.

As opposed to backcountry/backpacking camping. Most of what families do on vacations is car camping. You load up tons of shite, pull into a campground or site, and set up a tent near the car.

By far the most common form of camping. Your equipment is frequently different because you don't care about weight or survival equipment nearly as much.

Is this for your family or a group of friends?

Going to be hard to have much option to get out there with a 5-6 person tent, although they do exist. Depending on the tent, I'm not sure how much you can disperse the weight. You can do it, it'll just be heavy.

Anyway, you might try some options from Kelty or REI, as they'll be of decent enough quality but are frequently discounted. If this is for friends as opposed to family, I'd recommend multiple tents instead, but I'm guessing you've got your reasons for a larger tent.

FWIW, I've used Kelty, Black Diamond, Mountain Hardwear, Sierra Designs, Marmot and Big Agnes tents, and none have had any significant issues. The quality varies, but all will work for your purposes I'm sure. Kelty and Sierra Designs will be the cheapest, but Marmot tents go on sale a lot.

I like Coleman tents when weight is not an issue. They are cheap and last me longer than some more expensive ones. I would look into two 4 man tents. Most tents sleep one less than advertised. A four man can fit four people but really cramped. If this is for backpacking go with Big Agnes or search REI where you can compare weight to cost.

I have a coleman instant dome 7 and it does set up really quick. Maybe 5 minutes or less and I am not an experienced tent camper by any means. Bought it for a cub scout trip with my son. Says sleeps 7 but you better be REALLY CLOSE friends for seven to sleep in there. Think it is around $200

ETA: 10'x11' with 6'-3" center height.

I own this one. setup by myself in under 10 minutes. we can fit 2 queen size blow up beds no problem. i like it b/c it has a 7' ceiling and about 6'6" along the sides.

Here's a couple pics from a sleepover we had for my son's birthday.

If you're looking for comfort get hammocks. Not the cheapest but comfortable.

As was already said, don't need a 4 season. In the past I routinely used a 3 season tent in snow camping situations.

A real big tent won't be easy to pack in somewhere. I own a Coleman family tent. Fits 2 queen size air mattresses and has enough room to stow gear/clothes. It is not exactly light. Go to Coleman.com and find their family tents then look on amazon for a better price.

eta...get a tent with a D door.
