When LSU replaced Brady with Johnson, the basketball program stayed at same level if not got worse. Now, we have replaced Johnson with Jones and it still seems like the program is stuck in neutral. Until LSU decides to spend some money to try and bring in a really good coach, I think the fans will continue to get seasons like this. This year with the SEC being weak, there was no reason with the talent we have to not make the NCAA tournament, but looks like it'll be another NIT or nothing at all year.

This team is about the best our current coach can produce. He does it every season.

I agree, but is that just going to be acceptable for LSU now?? They built a new practice facility and have fans really wanting a good basketball team, yet the last 5+ years are just mediocre at best.

We are not that talented. It will take time.

Please don't compare Johnny or Brady to Trent. That is an insult to Johnny and Brady.

Trent sucked and brought our program to almost probation levels!

The talent is getting close to being there and with some adjustments (likely on the bench) we will be just fine.

We haven't gotten good players since Brady, until now, and he was able to field competitive teams every year. I see no reason why Jones can't.

JOB and Mickey are both talented players along with Martin. There was enough talent on this team to make the NCAA Tourney.

Talented based on what? Recruiting rankings?. Do you think any of our players are better than RS Sr Patterson from Pitt?

Do you mean both seasons? This is just his second year at LSU.

He's basically had just one recruiting year.

The problem here is LSU so oversold this team to the fans. They are not that good but equally JJ is in over his head. Really like the guy but I and stunned that he coaches a team that plays like this.

I cannot believe JOB is playing so poorly particularly on defense.

This team seems to not be able to wait until the season is over.

They are mailing it in. Never thought I would say that about a JJ coached team.

People need to realize that the established political machine got CJJ in. If he was not affiliated with LSU, he would have never been considered for the job.

LSU fans legit thought it was a sweet 16 team. That was ignorant.

We have no NBA players right now. JOB gets to down on himself, he's bad on defense, and doesn't always hustle.

The golden boy Mickey is TERRIBLE on defense. Good shot blocking does not equal good defense. Our zone is bad because Jordan Mickey is bad on the wing. He also can't create his own shot.

Martin is getting better but he's a raw, inconsistent Freshman.

We have 2 sub 6' guards who can't shoot unless they have room.

Coleman is a good hustle guy and can fill it up, or lay a dud.

I think we just have a very very false view of this team. They are an above average basketball team. However, the ncaa tourney has better than above average basketball teams. I don't think that CJJ is in over his head or anything, it just takes time to build something, and that's what he's doing

He gets a fourth year as long as he wins around 20 games and makes at least the NIT next season. Beyond that, who knows. Trent Johnson got four years, no reason why Jones won't get at least that many.

This. At least he's showing a spark on the recruiting trail. I mean just go look at recruiting classes under TJ, when Derenbecker and Ralston Turner are some of your "best" recruits coming in that's a problem

It's his second year and already our recruiting has skyrocketed from where it was. Why don't we give Johnny Jones a little time to get settled in before drawing sweeping conclusions.

He does it every season? You do realize that Trent Johnson isn't still coaching us right? This is his second year as the coach. We don't need to chop his damn head off already.
