Paul George's 360 East Bay

Terrance Ross's East Bay off of a Drake handoff

Lillard East Bay off a bounce-lob

Ben McLemore getting UP. sometimes the best dunks emerge from mistakes

and, possibly the best dunk contest dunk i've ever seen: John Wall going all Harold Minor off a handoff, with a reverse-under the rim maneuver on top

before the charade of groupthink emerges, i'll throw out some historical dunks from when the dunk contest was supposedly better

How did they not have a plan for a possible sweep by one of the conferences?

i thought the stupid "spin the wheel and recreate a classic dunk" was the worst dunk contest idea ever...until last night

I didn't think the freestyle aspect was terrible. Helped change things up since the contest had been getting a little stale. I know it's hard to have them dunk a bunch of times while trying original things, but they had to find a way to do some kind of final dunkoff at least with the 3 who won the "battles"

I was a bit surprised by just how terrible Harrison Barnes was last night.

SFP did you see the D League dunk contest? Tony Mitchell killed it.

I've only seen the Tony Mitchell stuff, but it looks like it was the traditional format

oh i have a slew of gifs from the new generation of dunk contests i was saving for page 2

and after basically every contest, people were saying it sucked and wasn't as good as the past (just like after last night)

Problem with those gifs of the Wilkins dunks, (especially the last one), is that they don't really capture the aggressiveness of his dunks. Nique threw them down "with authority".

Plus there was a buzz in the arena back then, thanks to the crowd. They were into it. While the dunks today are better, the atmosphere isn't. The crowd is dead now.

Now, It's almost like we are watching them dunk in an empty gym

i get all that, but i'm judging the dunks on a technical level. i naturally filter out that stuff i guess

that 2nd jordan dunk i posted is really nice

but compare his reverse dunk to wall's. similar motions, but wall's is vastly superior
