There is an ethanol-free gas station on Airline just south of 12 before you get to Coursey.

If some of you don't know, ethanol is destroying older lawn mowers/little motors because the sugars from the corn oil do something to it. I had a push mower I had gotten as a wedding present 17 years ago, and the ethanol gas I was using put it out of commission. I was told I should have been putting a tablet in the tank to counteract tge ethanol in the gas.

Hope this helps.

Don't leave this in your boat either. Drain the lines if it will not be used for a while.

I destroyed a 3,000 generator due to this.

Granted I should have listened to the warnings but I'm not a genius so I left the gas in the generator tank. Cheaper to just buy a new generator rather than repair.

Thanks Obama.

Uh... Isn't 17 years a long time to use a lawn mower?? You sure the gas made it quit?

premium gas helps with it but leaving gas in a tank for extended times is never a good thing, ethanol or not.

Ethanol is grain alcohol. It burns hotter, and if left to sit in a tank for an extended period of time, will accumulate more water than already naturally present in the blend.

Another reason OT =/= OB

This is old news, and there have been many lawsuits filed because of ethanol gas. Biggest one was from boat engine manufacturers.

check realgas.com and Pete Landry's gas to find all of the places. There are probably 15 in BR

Eta: FYI, it's perfectly fine if you don't let it sit. Robs performance and fuel mileage of motors that aren't specifically designed for ethanol.

Even in you use regular gas with ethanol, just run the engine often and add a stabilizer to be safe. I run my generator every couple of months, add Stabil, and it's fine.

I've made so much money fixing ethanol-related problems it's not even funny. I would say that 95% of small engine problems are because of ethanol

Drain fuel
Pull and clean carb
Check petcock
Pull and clean plug
Starter fluid

That fixes almost every problem I see

That place on Airline is a ripoff: $3.69 per gallon.

There is a place on Florida in Denham between Range and the Amite River (B&B Mini Mart) that is currently $3.29 per gallon for ethanol free gas.
