Big Lake Trip ... Success!

Saturday: 3 people
Caught over 50 Redfish.
Kept 15.
It was like bass fishing, found them in the marsh, east of BL.
Threw small white grubs on 1/4 oz. white perch jigheads, also caught some on Gulp. New Penny, Char. Mullet, Glow/Char tail and Glow.
My buddy hooked a 5 foot Alligator gar but we couldnt get it into the boat...
Sunday: Me and my buddy went back. Limited in an hour, also caught a 4 foot Gar that we managed to get into the net. Hooked him by the back fin.
Headed north and hooked up on some big trout.
Caught 23 most were between 3-5 pounds...
Got 9 quarts of fillets on 23 trout.
Caught trout on chartruese jerk baits.
Broke the lid on my 120 quart ice chest there was so many fish in it.
By far the best fishing we did at BL in 2 years.
Couldnt find anyone to go with us...everyone had plans...their loss...
Trying to get a trip to Toledo at the end of the month...

Sounds like a hell of a weekend. Yeti lid would have broken the fish before the fish broke the lid.

Took about 3 hours.
We were goofing off.
9 quarts of trout and 6 quarts of redfish.
Put the gar in an ice bag to let it bleed out on ice..
Blew a tire out on my boat trailer and have to get it fixed before we go back.

50/50 chance the trout arent there with the rain.

Have to ask my buddy, he's a guide and it's his spot.
Had to finesse the trout. There was 7 boats in there and didn't see 1 single person catch a trout.
