Buddy said last weekend on the south end, 46.5 was the warmest he found.
ETA: I'm going Monday, if I remember I will start a thread.

It is cold in Houston so I assume it is cold at TB.

I'm guessing water temp is around 55 degrees.

Headed up on Sunday, will try and post results as well.

I've been hearing that when it warms up they're in the 6-10 foot range over grass (duh). Some big fish have been caught even with the cold temps.

Yes, with the 6 to 10 foot. got a feeling by next week will have some numbers staging before the flats with the last month cold weather. I like going in Febuary before the crowds.

Damn, might have to fish south. I'm sure the water is pretty dirty north of the bridge as well.

Is there some magic temp for the rattle trap bite to start? I just assumed everything would be later than normal given the winter we have had.

Looked to me like that was the day to go. I might have to check calendar and block off day.

I hit the magic day once in my life. Had been highs in 70s and lows in 50s for 6 straight days. Catch fish throwing over our backs and not looking. Started looking in box to see what least likely bait would be.

Just checked calendar. My trip last year with the good trap bite was feb 1. Of course, the winter was totally different.

January of 2011 was the best I ever remember. Cross lake was on fire.

No I'm workin a turnaround right now, but my dad was there. He has been catchin between 5-10 fish a day, but they've been some nice ones. Hardly any throwbacks. He fished a tourney Saturday and only caught two fish.
