What's so great about it and how does it differ from regular camcorders?

How do you personally use it, real life stories.

Do you still use it as much as when you first bought it?

Have you never seen a go pro commercial? Main thing is you can mount it and use it for various outdoor activities(biking, skiing, water sports, etc).

We've used ours when my husband goes mountain biking, while white water rafting, zip lining, rappelling, stand up paddle boarding, climbing and snorkeling.

They are great but not the most user friendly. If you are buying one with a certain trip in mind.....buy it a month or so before to give you time to learn how to use it.

Also....don't buy Sandisk memory cards for it. We lost ALL of our recent vacation footage because Go pros and Sandisk cards don't get along.

Also....you will spend a lot of money for the various mounts and accessories for it so be prepared.

Our $400 go pro easily doubled in cost when we started buying various go pro gear for it.

My brother bought one around this time last year. He uses it when he goes mountain biking and on fishing trips to the everglades but he doesn't really get much quality film out of it. His wife always bitches that he wasted money buying the damn thing.

If you do a lot of outdoor activities like mountain biking, climbing, zip-lining, etc. I'm sure it's cool but otherwise just save your money because you won't get much use out of it.

Yeah it isn't something you use all the time. They are buggy as can be too so uploading videos can be a pain.

It's cool in theory it's just that the GoPro company has A LOT of kinks to work out of their cameras.

My brother owns a skateboarding company and uses it to make badass promo videos and stuff.

I personally never thought about getting one because the fixed wide angle lens would be useless to me at least 95% of the time. Then I saw this mod kit that made me almost want to get the GoPro: LINK

If I wanted to mount a camera on a r/c quad rotor to shoot some aerial footage, I'd get one for sure

Bought mine for my honeymoon. Jet skiing, scuba diving, zip lining, etc. Came out great. Don't really do too many adventurous things back home that would normally justify it. But since coming back I've found ways to use it. I've used it for hunting, fishing, gonna use it riding in endymion. It's got a great time lapse feature too that I've recorded some sunsets and storms moving in at the camp and the beach as well as us setting up our tailgate. Also when my nieces and nephews all get together to swim at my parents' house they like taking pictures and movies underwater.

Used mine for snow skiing, snorkeling in BVI, and a day on the water at false river. Those are the few times I use it, but the video footage itself is pretty awesome.

One cool feature it has is the ability to do time lapse videos for up to 8 hours I'm pretty sure.

It's better than film and spinning hard drive camcorders because it can take heavy impacts without disrupting the video capture.

It can be better than a lot of SSD camcorders because of it's small form factor and mounts to attach it to pretty much anything.

It's ideally made for extreme sports.

They can take heavy impacts/damage as well. Seen them survive after falling off during skydiving, seen them fly off speeding race cars/motorcycles and get hit by other cars/motorcycles and still work fine. Most camcorders would get destroyed.

I use it mostly for scuba diving. They are small and rugged. I have jumped off of cliffs with it and taken it down over 100' deep and never had any problems. Just depends what you are wanting to do with the footage you take.

I use mine for motorcycle road racing. Best $250 I ever spent!

It takes some getting used to but they are fun to use. I've used mine for canoeing, etc and enjoy it. A lot of possibilities...

It's awesome for outdoor activities and really easy for hands-free operations. The quality is excellent and it's really small so it's easy to pack.

I've used it for fishing, snowboarding, strapped it to my dog just to see what she got up to... and my boyfriend has used his for all of the above and hunting and random other stuff. I also plan on using it the next time I go scuba diving. I also plan on using it when I go abroad for general travel recording.

The quality of a finished video is about 90% dependent on the talent of the person that edited it, and maybe 10% on the quality of the raw video stock.

My old man got me the HeroBlack3+ for Christmas this past year. On NYE I was taking it out of the box to inspect everything. I took the camera out of the protective case and laid everything out on the kitchen table. I then went out for a half hour to eat lunch. When I came back to the house, i noticed the camera (only the camera) was on the couch. Well, what luck, my GF's dog (great dane) had plucked the camera off the table and commenced to chomping down on it. He killed it and killed it good.

The GoPro people are being kind enough to knock 40% off a replacement. Really looking forward to sinking MY teeth into it to film my little girl doing cool stuff with me!

Too bad you weren't filming that. Would have made a good youtube video.
