Too bad the USA and other Western leaders don't have the balls or the conviction to say this
quote:

“In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.”

Meh, the only difference between Russia and most of Europe is they'll put up a little more resistance to Islam. In the end it wont matter, they're still on pace to end up just like Europe. Hollow words.

I do agree that the west is largely spineless though, and a day is coming where we will face the choice of going "scorched earth motherfricker" or losing our way of life.

So is Russia, India, Africa and potentially the Americas if we don't sack up. The only difference are the time scales.

50 years from now, China will almost certainly be the safest place to be.

Their xenophobia aside, I'm not sure why Russia thinks of itself as a model for those countries to follow. Last I checked, America is doing okay.

Will be interesting to see what the world will look like 40 years from now. Doubt I'll be around that long, but the past 40 years brought about some absolutely stunning changes in the political, social climate. I really think the US is on a downturn, and some other nations will take their place near the top.

A country with Russia's problems is in no position to refer to the "suicide" of other western nations who don't embrace their phobia of foreigners.

I tend to agree, but I'm not sure about Russia being one of those nations.

Not from a cultural standpoint, but I do understand some of their phobia. It's a losing proposition though.

It would be great to be able to control who comes in, only allowing the best and brightest but there are few nations set up to geographically make that happen.

Someday, we'll either need to adopt that phobia or die.

I'm not sure people would have put China where they are today, 50 years ago. Russia has some serious obstacles to overcome but do have some resources and could easily be a military superpower once again.

Who knows what will happen with Brazil or India in the next 40 years?

True. Russian needs to deal with its insurgency problem first.

It's interesting no one sees a country from the Middle East rising to prominence. It's one of the few areas in the world where they aren't aborting themselves out of existence.
