LSU will begin spring football practice March 7 and the spring game is slated for April 5, the school announced Thursday.

The Tigers will hold 14 spring practices before the spring game: March 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29 and April 1 and 3. A time for the spring game has not been set.

This will be Les Miles’ 10th spring practice as coach. For the first time in years, the Tigers enter drills without a clear favorite for the starting quarterback job, though many think Anthony Jennings has an edge.

Freshman Brandon Harris, sophomore Jennings, redshirt freshman Hayden Rettig, junior Stephen Rivers and senior Rob Bolden are expected to battle to replace Zach Mettenberger as the Tigers starter.

I want to see Bolden get some snaps even if it's in mop up duty or just to hand the ball off. He deserves it.

I will definitely be there for that Spring Game. LSU is loaded. Congratulations Coach Miles and Staff. You put together a winning team. This team has NC written all over it.

They're comparing Fournette to Adrian Peterson. Some say Fournette is going to be better than Peterson. Dang...have you seen Peterson run?

I am definitely energized!

Geaux Tigahs!!

Fournette

Not an early enrollee, won't play in Spring. With only two running backs in the spring, the spring game should show a more wide open look.

I don't think LF is an EE. He won't be there for the spring game.

Don't matter....I'll still be there for the Spring Game. But LF will be there this fall. Had a dream early this morning [seriously] of opposing DT's grabbing thin air as LF and company busted up the 'gut'. Defensive Lineman and LB's 'pancaked' and strewn all about. It was an epiphany. I mean if this guy looks anything like Adrian Peterson in his running style....the whole fricking LSU Stadium will be a huge caldron of mad roaring fans. Hey Professor....dust off that seismic equipment again!!

Then on top of that we've got us a serious OL Coach. Look for vast improvment in that area.

The only two from this years signing class that will be in the spring game is Brandon Harris and Ed Paris .....

I absolutely love the football/baseball double header Saturday. I was upset when we went away from doing that.

So many questions....so few answers. Appears LSU has an enviable dilemma.....loaded with talent at QB. Inquiring minds want to know? Will Stephen Rivers finally assert himself and prove to be another "Mett" reincarnation? Ultimately, which one of these talented QB's will catch the eye of Coach Cam? Which one possesses the traits [including the much sought after - quick release]and unique talents that will lead our Tigahs to a NC. Will this offensive line show signs of becoming the totalling dominating "granite wall" we all know they're capable of becoming? How about the linebackers? Gnawing at me is the inside linebacker position. Is D.J. Welter going to prove he's capable of being an outstanding LB? I think so. Ultimately will we watch in awe as our LSU Tigahs put on an offensive and defensive display of speed, speed, and more speed, complete with multiple threats? A team capable of blowing away opposing teams in a sudden surge of dominance. No more of these tense games decided in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.

So many questions.....so few answers!

Why does he "deserve" it?

Thanks, I didn't read the whole thread. The new coaches surely have to learn the schemes in a hurry. What...that is less than 2 weeks away??

Agreed, I was bummed last year with no baseball afterwards. Year before, we swept arky that weekend.

I'm looking for miss state tickets in the TE for this.
