Supposed to start on Monday and be in Dallas. Got another offer today that pays significantly more money and is a better fit.

What is the best way to inform them at 3 on Friday?

Tell them to top what you are being paid at the other job.

Start a war between the two companies.

Just dont show up on Monday, eventually someone will figure out you havent been going. When they call, say you are in the file room looking for the Jones file.

really doesn't matter at this point now does it? Send an email. they're gonna think you're a cock sucker either way (and, arguably, you are). But you have to be true to yourself and look out for you.

just don't ask them for this job if the other doesn't work out.

That's what you say. They'll be pissed, but oh well.

DO NOT ask them to counter offer. That's very unprofessional and you would definitely burn any semblance of a bridge that might be left.

I'd call first if you have the direct line to who was supposed to be your new boss. If they are gone for the day, follow up with email.

If you're spineless, then yes. Call them.

My college buddy did this to the same service company I worked for and he just ignored all of his calls so that he didn't have to confront anyone. Kinda awkward for me ... I just pretended like I didn't know him
