the only thing that didn't go according to plan yesterday (besides the ice storm in OK) was someone letting that nat'l reporter George Schroeder sit too close to the fax machine.

It has been received, they are just keeping it on the DL until he has ceremonial announcement deal at school which has been closed due to snow.

They are saying an announcement will happen on Monday. He is signed with LSU, though.

If anyone still thinks there's a chance we could lose him to OU, just take a peek at his twitter feed. He ain't no boomer-sooner fan.

Due to weather, it is going down on Monday.

He has already sent in his LOI.

Or Frank Wilson telling the media that LSU received Clark's LOI.

Thanks for the info. Several days ago it was mentioned that his mom is sick and wants him to be close to home; now I believe that's not the case.
Welcome to the Tigers Nation, Deondre Clark!!!

It absolutely is the case. This has been known for quite some time. In fact, a lot of us were expecting him to flip to OU at some point but he never did.

His mom has been battling cancer, but supposedly (and I have no link) her prognosis is good.

I never thought he'd flip (look up my posting history, braaaah) just because he was a long-time commit and very, VERY excited about being in Chavis's scheme and being the next Mingo/Sam guy. He has been in love with the P&G and our staff for a while.

Plus, he had a sincere dislike for OU. Call it the same familiarity that breeds contempt that we experience with NOLA guys. Who knows. Either way, he's a done deal and momma supports him. (her sig is on that LOI, too!)

Although I'm happy that he's a tiger, I would have had no problem with him flipping to be closer to home. I imagine it's tough to leave home with a sick mom. Best of luck to his family and welcome aboard.

This.

During the end of last year and summer, her prognosis wasnt good. And thats when he wasnt sure where he would go. And thats expected from anyone in his position. That would make a college decision that much harder and emotional.

Then after she went through treatment and what not, they got the news that her prognosis has improved and is good. Which is awesome.

And meauxses, i think we all feel that way about him

Well said.

Deondre Clark has become my favorite recruit this year. The kid bleeds purple and gold. After he and his family have gone through he still wants to be a Tiger. Although I have no exclusive info about the situation, I fell that his mother must be one hell of a lady because he seems to have her support. I love his dedicaroom, and truly wish him the very best that life has to offer. Instead of Geaux Tigers, I will say Geaux Deondre

And for people that arent familiar with this type of scenario... Nick Brossette , 2015 RB commit from U-High and a top 5 RB in the nation, is going through something similar.

His mother got sick so he just decided to commit to LSU and end the process. But, I believe she is doing better as of late. So I wouldnt be surprised if he decides to take visits and get back in recruiting world. I dont want to hear any LSU fans hating and bashing on this young man if he decides to take visits. Hes earned the opportunity to go and look at some of the best schools and programs in the country. He owes himself the chance to at least go look at diff schools.
