George Will: IRS targeting scandal on par with Watergate, Iran-Contra

Fox News contributor George Will said Monday the IRS targeting of conservative groups was one of the three biggest political scandals in the last 40 years.
Watergate and Iran-Contra were the other two major scandals, according to Will. His comments were in response to President Obama’s Super Bowl Sunday interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly.
In the interview, Obama called the targeting “boneheaded decisions” and said there was “not even a smidgen of corruption.”
Will says it's evident Obama knows the media is not closely investigating the scandal.
"This is not being perused and the president knows that," Will said. "Hence his sense of weariness and boredom as he discussed this with Bill O’Reilly."

I really don't get how these two statements can possibly be rectified with each other.

And yet it seems to be a Non story in most of the media.
Why?

Because a couple of lanes on a bridge were blocked for God's sake! A bridge! Surely that has affected all of you more than this IRS non-issue.

and this is both very curious and disturbing..
Everyone regardless of the political affiliation should be up in arms over this.
In my book it at least rises to the level of the NSA issue...

How can the President declare there isn't a "smidgen of evidence" while his justice department has a supposed "on going investigation regarding the IRS targeting conservatives"? Seems like Obama has just implicated himself as being the one that called for the targeting of conservatives. Why did Lerner plead the fifth? Why did he call for the resignation of the head of the IRS at the time? Why did the IRS admit to targeting of conservatives?

I blame the repubs in congress. I mean if they sit back and do nothing about any scandals, why should obama care?

Far greater, as it is wound around by so many more scandals connected to the Bozos. How any of the progs on board deny the filth that is very self evident is by all sane minds who give it a glance unbelievable, yet they persist in abject denial/insanity.

He also knows the Justice Department investigation is all for show.

I don't think anything this administration has done will be remembered as a scandal.
First of all, too much emphasis is put on the seeming magic of his rise to political power, and all that has stemmed from it.
Second, the average American is so tuned out of what is going on, I doubt too many are even aware of the particulars of any scandal that has been uncovered in the past 6 years.

Because this has nothing to do with The Kardashians or American Idol.

I'm afraid there's not a whole lot we can do about bias in the media that's not unamerican and anti-liberty as hell.

Yea, lets don't blame the propagandist media.

That's funny... because neither is Darrell Issa. You think that's mere coincidence? This wannabe scandal has withered on the vine because Issa has nothing juicy to feed to the likes of George Will.
