Not a true southern state. I worked in north Georgia for a while and had clients in Tennessee. Most of them classified Louisiana as it's own little state, almost like an island. The Carolina's, Georgia and Tennessee are simply more southern than Louisiana.

Every other southern state doing something is not a good reason to do that thing.

they actually did have one in Monroe not that long ago, it raced essentially the minor leagues of NASCAR. They were trying to get it's name up to get some better drivers and races.

it did not do well and folded within a few years

It's still there when you drive in on the interstate, I think they still hold some type of races. I guess private.

when we drove down to Shreveport from DC for Christmas, we stopped in Bristol, TN/VA and that place is 100x more "southern" than any place I've been to in Louisiana

I know everyone has their hobbies and stuff they like that not everyone else does.. and thats fine as can be..

But I cannot see any way that I would ever get into Nascar..
