if he used a different "tone" or whatever Paul Ryan or some other conservatives claim is complete bullshite. GOP congressmen in both the House and Senate have been stonewalling Obama since the day he was elected in 2008 and have ratcheted up the partisan rancor at every turn. Mitch McConnell instructed Republican Senators to "make a public show" of wanting work with Obama, but to block him at every turn.

If that's what your strategy is, and you just want to be such a slave to your party that you refuse to do ANYTHING that could potentially be seen as a victory for Obama (broad bipartisan public support be damned) thats fine i guess, but don't go on tv and lie to everyone about your motives.

I don't pretend to support everything the R's do, however, if you think your leader is willing to negotiate, sit down, and listen to opinions from others, you are a dumbarse.

It's both sides, when are people going to get that through their thick partisan brains?

Is that it or is it the other way around?

how can the GOP act in such unison when it's having a civil war currently?

also, the DEMs declared war with how they used legislative tricks to pass Obamacare. this is the response

I would be the first to say that Obama could have and should have done things differently (if he did have any any interest in actually accomplishing even half of his stated 2008 agenda)

What a cogent and well-reasoned argument.

case in point: Obamacare delays

it shut down government, and then as soon as the impact was felt, the DEMs were asking to change the law in ways the GOP was pushing that led to the shut down

his signature piece of legislation he kicked republicans out the room and forced it down the country's throat. so republicans have voted 40 times or whatever to repeal it. is it good for the country? no. but this dude has brought it all on himself

Because the one thing that still unites them is their hatred of Obama

The democrats were doing the same thing too.

Do you think the democrats were stonewalling and being obstructionists when Bush was president?

This thread.... I don't even....

it's really ramped up during teh election of 2012 and then acting like titty babies after losing...in 2013

i don't think it's that personal...at least for the small government types

the RINO/establishment GOP wants to work with the DEMS for the most part

they were elected for one thing: reduce the size of government.

they certainly were when it came to divisive elements of Bush's platform.

They weren't stonewalling EVERYTHING though. They still voted for things their constituents wanted.

This Congress is statistically the least productive in the history of the country. Look it up.
