Emanuel Porter

Heard the coaches are feeling good about where they stand with Porter.

Is it just me or does his QB suck?

Which speaks volumes for him! Alot of under throne balls that he goes over defenders for!

Kid's definitely trying to do his best Landry impression. Even has a special teams play.

I love receivers who go up and catch the ball at its highest point. This shows great hands and sets up well for the college game.

He looked pretty fast to me, the QB couldn't get it to him...

he has a 40' vertical...sounds elite to me... I read up on him last week... he looked impressive playing basketball

People just drool over speed and 40 times. It's really not that important. The 2 slowest receivers in LSU history I can think of were josh reed and eric martin....they caught everything.

The 40 time on this kid is inconsistent when you look it up. I suspect he's mid 4.5 range.

Anyway, the coaches are excited about his ability. He just goes up and gets it. Porter, much like spears from last year, may end up being a huge signee at the end of the recruiting season.

I'm not sure what your point is...

"He's really big, and fast for his size, but I prefer slow small receivers cause I saw one once."

Speed is incredibly important for a vertical receiver, and this guy isn't slow by any means.

My point is that we are not talking about a great difference in speed between a 4.4 and a 4.55. Acceleration, body control, and hand strength are all more important factors for any type of receiver. Porter has everything you need like you mentioned.

kid has football speed and a QB who consistantly under throws the ball. Like his hands and how he catches it at the highest point. Not MD, but if we don't get him a very good replacement.

I think his situation is so close to spears from a year ago. He is a steal if we can get him. Texas visit at the end is tough, but like I said, a lot of guys are starting to feel like LSU is where he will end up.

Are we just going to ignore the kicker who needed a 7 yard head start on that fg?

TCU pay site said Porter called their coaches during his visit to LSU and said he was solid to TCU.

Texas side now says..."Texas making an in-home with Porter later today. Torn between TCU and LSU with a visit to Texas scheduled for this weekend. Anything could happen here. But I get the feeling TCU is starting to pull away some for a number of reasons."

LSU coaches visiting supposed to visit this week.
