wanted to have another thread with just these two in it. I saw in the other thread alot chose bo jackson. Why him over deion sanders for most welll rounded athlete?

Because Deion is a cocky soft pos.

Deion was good at a few elements of each sport he played, Bo had it all

explain.. im not trying to argue, everyone has opinion. Just looking for reasoning

I probably shouldn't add my 2 cents, but Bo was a natural ath. He never really practiced, never used PED's (his body was already pure muscle), and he was still the most dominated athlete on the field.

of course you have bias! and i know bo was a stud! And amazing athlete, just wondering what makes him more "well rounded athlete" than deion!

Deion was fast in football, good hands, great coverage, not a good tackler.
In baseball he was an above average player but nothing spectacular.
Bo was a phenom in both sports. Big, fast, athletic, etc

okay here is my arguement
bo jackson
nfl--
number 1 pick
2782 rushing yds 16tds
352 receiving yds 2td
mlb---
598 hits
141 hrs
.250 avg
82 stolen bases
deion sanders nfl--
number 5 pick
53 ints
1332 int return yds and 9 tds
(also played wide receiver) 784 rec yds 3tds
3523 kick return yards 3 tds
2199 punt return yards 6tds
mlb--
558 hits
263 avg
39 hrs
181 stolen bases
so to say bo was a phenom in both sports and deion wasnt is insane! Deion played offense, defense, spec teams, and major league baseball.. not to mention only player to play in superbowl and world series! How is he not more well rounded so to speak

Don't you have to unfortunafely consider Bo's injury in this equation. Deion played at a really high level of play in the NFL for a long, long time.

Deion's accomplishments > Bo's
If you don't consider accomplishments when talking about a well-rounded athlete, then it's a toss up.

IMO Bo was a better athlete. He just had an insane combination of speed, strength, and skill.
Deion probably had the better career b/c Bo's got cut short by injury.

Bo Jackson is overrated as frick.

Both had pretty similar baseball stats, give or take( Bo had more RBI's,HR, and a better ops while Deion had a better walk to strike out ration, more triples/doubles, and a better BA ). All in all though they are very comparable as far as individual success in baseball. Its harder to compare the two in football because they played different positions and there was also a bigger diffrence in length of career (BO played 4 years in the NFL and 8 in MLB, deion had 14 in the NFL and 9 in MLB). It is hard to look at the two and declare one the better athlete, the hip injury doesnt help either(who knows how what he could have done in the NFL/ how much it held him back in baseball). With all of thatt being said you have to go with Deion. Your comparing a great running back to arguably the best corner of all time.
