No knocks are a bad situation waiting to happen.

Were the dogs OK?

Yea, if you run into my apartment and I have no idea who you are/you have a gun, I'm shooting you.

Agree.
A weed head living in a trailer and it takes a SWAT team?

Very sad that a man lost his life over weed.

If someone is breaking into your home, don't protect yourself because it might be cops serving a warrant.

the one that was killed was the one who asked for the warrant. he brought it on himself.

killing 31 year old sheriff’s deputy Adam Sowders.

quote:

1.) The “no-knock” warrant was issued at the request of Deputy Sowders who was proceeding according to information provided by an investigator who told the officer that Magee “…was growing marijuana and possibly had stolen guns, as well as other drugs inside his home.” According to Magee’s attorney, Dick Deguerin, four weapons were recovered by police; 3 legally owned by Magee, one legally owned by Magee’s mother. Also according to Deguerin, the only drugs found in the home consisted of a small number of marijuana plants, constituting “…a misdemeanor amount.” The warrant itself was signed by District Judge Reva Towslee Corbett. As a copy has yet to be made available, it’s not known whether the warrant was for a drug search only or also for a search for firearms.

No sense at all.

I'm shocked he is alive. Plus he's charged with capital murder. He better get a top-notch attorney.

All over growing some mj plants. Did the cops find any?

How can this small time pot dealer in backwoods Brazos Valley afford Dick Deguerin? Dude is a top lawyer in Houston who defended Tom DeLay

Unless someone is in imminent danger, they need to stop no-knock warrants.

Oh, I'm sure that there will be "other criminal activity" reported.

I can't believe that guy made it out of that trailer alive.

How and the hell can they continue to serve these no knock warrants and not have ANY video of it at all.

In a way that's worse than finding none. Obviously for his own use.

According to the article, this guy had no history of violence. Why would a judge sign a no knock warrent for someone that has never been violent?

The judge who issued the warrant and the officer who requested it should be charged with accessory to murder or something. They are responsible for that cops death.
