We showed some grit coming down from 17. Haven't seen that in this team before..

Especially on the road. It sucks to lose, and mind you if we want the tourney we can't lose too many more. But if they can play the rest of the season with that fight that thy showed, we will have a nice finish to conf play.

I'm in no way happy with our loss, but a Trent Johnson team loses that by 40

What about the lack of fight they showed to be down 19 in the first place?

Last year, our teams dug themselves into huge holes and came back quite often. Nothing new, but I'd rather not be there in the first place.

I think its time to swallow your pride and call a spade a spade. This teams is not going to the NCAA tournament.

Exactly! Their half-assed effort on defense against a bad offensive team put themselves in that spot to begin with.

I like how we fought back but the issue is we got there by being lazy. It wasn't like we were down because of something freaky, we were down due to our own mistakes. Then we lost because of our own mistakes again.

This team clearly has talent. We seem to have a iq and hustle issue at times. Hopefully this can serve as a come to jesus loss and we see effort like the 2nd half for the entire game on tuesday.

You would think they've had enough come to Jesus games this season. They laid an egg against RI at home, only to come out and lay an egg against UT in the very next game. They struggled to finish against USC (but won), then struggled to finish against OM in the very next game. They've played 18 games this season. It's about damn time to figure things out, don't you think?

Newsflash: UK is going to attack off the dribble. Get ready for it. You're going to have to give max effort on ball to defend them.

If you do have some success offensively, they're going to go to a zone. It's about time you figure out how to attack it.

Thank you for a positive post. frick the haters. They showed grit. Yes we "should" have won, but I think some of the key players down the road are learning valuable lessons. I like where the program is going and my arse will be in the seat every game. I wanna go to NYC for the NIT since tourney is done

Lol we were digging ourselves out of holes that big last season too. It's as if people just forget that.

1. How is that in any way relevant to the game today?

2. The 2011 bama team, their best in recent memory, beat Johnson's worst Lsu team at home by 24. So please, since you thought this was somehow relevant to the topic at hand, attempt to justify your statement with logic.

U can laugh and it is what it is but id say we could lose at least 2 more conf games and still have a pretty good shot of making the tourney

I like your positive attitude. I wish I had that outlook. To be honest, if they made the NIT, I'd be okay. Just don't see this club a NCAA tourney team. We were pre-season picked 4th in the SEC if I'm not mistaken. We would have to go on a serious run & win the SEC tourney to make the dance probably.

The way you attack the zone is to hit the perimeter shots, which is something we can't do because we just don't have the shooters to do so. We have several guys who can hit the 3's now and then, but not that person who is a consistent threat from the outside.

meh. you can beat the zone by penetrating the lanes while the zone is shifting or even easier by flashing a guy in middle of the zone. But more often than not we are lazy on the high flash. When we do get it at high post JOB is the only one on the lowblock that seems to try to post up for the one on one and pass from high block.
Martin will flash aggressive high but he never looks low once he gets it. rarely squares up on high post and just kicks it right back out.
Mickey tends to shoot it when he gets it high or penetrate but rarely tries to post when hes on low block and someone else is high.

if they can put it together they will be alright. Getting to middle of zone will collapse it everytime and they have the post men who can shoot it and post up well enough to really make them pay but for whatever reason just not doing it
