Is it better to stay near the start and shuttle back? Will possibly be travelling/running alone so won't have a car to bring me back.

Are the shuttles a PITA???

It finishes in City Park. No hotels there.

I would make a play for the Hyatt-Superdome if possible. Very nice property and the closest to the starting line.

My family parks by the end and gets shuttled to the start.

Buses aren't that big of a pain, just a small wait.

Thanks ... wanted to run last year but after a torn meniscus at the RNR NOLA half it was a no go ... going to try again this year.

Appreciate the help ... was worried about the shuttle back!

the shuttle was alright. i stayed at the hyatt last year. i ran the classic and the wife stayed and ate breakfast at the hyatt and i took the shuttle back. it was a cool trip. i think the shuttles dont leave for a good 75-90 minutes until after the start of the race. thats the only downside.
