Going mattress shopping. Have slept on Tempurpedic and really liked it. Don't want to spend quite that much. What other options are out there?

Definitely try before you buy. Even with tempurpedic there are some that are just not comfortable for me

I hate those things. Giant slab of warm bread that weighs 200 lbs. Course I didn't sleep on them, I delivered them.

They never felt like they would be very comfortable to me.

hard as a rock. Only soft if you get a top of the line with pillow top type.

Try the iComfort mattresses from Serta. We love ours. I think we bought the middle of the line. Can't remember price either. Oh, well just check it out!

Wrong, they will soften up over the first month, but none of them are hard as a rock unless the room is freezing cold.

To the op, there isn't a cheaper version that compares. Yes there are cheaper versions out there, but none that perform and last like Tempur-Pedic. With a knockoff you will get up to 2" of body impressions which make you feel like you're sleeping in a hole.

I've got one, and just to let you know, they seem to retain body heat. They are ok during winter, but suck during the summer. I've had one for a while, and I won't be getting another one when I buy.

I would live in a house made of memory foam if it were a possibility.

I have had one for 13-14 years now and really like it. We will be building a new house shortly and of course we have to buy all new furnishings.

I'll give you a deal on my Tempurpedic if you are interested.
