You have these options:

Jacksonville Jags
4 yr 17 mil, 10 guaranteed

Cleveland Browns
4 yr 20 mil, 12 guaranteed

Miami Dolphins
4 yr 12 mil, 8 guaranteed

New England Patriots
4 yr 10 mil, 5 guaranteed

San Francisco
4 yr 10 mil, 5 guaranteed

All factors considered, which do you take? Teams have their basic same rosters and coaches as 2013.

well i'm a niners fan so i would obviously pick them.

of the others it would be either NE or cleveland. would depend partially on what position i play

Only reason I would probably not go to Cleveland is because I hate the cold. Id go to Jax or Miami. If San Fran was a little more money Id go there for sure

The amount of money I had already made and how my past teams have done would be a big factor as well

Cleveland then Miami, however that would change depending on what position I play.

The question: Is it worth $2M to play in Florida instead of Cleveland?

Hell, suck it up and take the money -- you have the rest of your life to be warm.

Does Ohio have state income tax? Because Florida doesn't.

ETA these numbers are pretty ridiculous for an UFA

Either Jacksonville, Miami, or San Fran. I'm not going to any team up north except Seattle.

Jags deal - Guaranteed 59% of your contract. $7mill left non guaranteed.

Browns deal - Guaranteed 60% of your contract. $8mill left non guaranteed

Dolphins deal - Guaranteed 67% of contract. $4mill left non guaranteed.

Pats - Guaranteed 50% of contract. $5 mill left non guaranteed

San Fran - Guaranteed 50% of contract. $5mill left non guaranteed.

I would never sign a contract that leaves half of it non guaranteed, so San Fran and NE are out for me.

You get the best % of your contract guaranteed with Miami, but the least overall. Pretty much the same % guaranteed with Cleveland and Jax. So it just comes down to $2mill difference. I would go Cleveland.

But there are a lot of factors. Age, talent level, depth chart, past success / failure. If im a WR, who is QB? Divisional opponents matter too.

The best deal, IMO, is the Cleveland deal. But it depends on if thats the best deal for you at that time.

And at the same time, if youre good enough to earn a $20mill contract, you wouldnt go to a team for a $10mill contract. You can find a team that will give you a $20mill contract and more $$$ guaranteed. The difference in contracts arent that realistic. Theres a big difference in talent level for a $10mill contract and a $20mill contract, regardless of how much is guaranteed.

I would go to a shitty team like Cleveland or Jacksonville. Gives me best chance to play.
