If one of the top receivers fell to us in draft. (Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin, Marquis Lee) would we take over another pass rusher in first round?

Not sure Saints are even looking pass rush in the 1st.

Loomis made it very clear that we are going to try to address needs in FA so that we can just draft 100% BPA rather than based on need.

WR is our #1 need imo, so I'd say...yes. I'd likely go OL and secondary before pass rush as well

this and it is the case every year. It may not be a stud but they normally address the "needs" in free agency.

Way too early to get that specific about the draft. Good discussion would be if players X, Y, & Z were all available who do ya think the Saints take? We're just trying to sort out value and come up with rough rankings at this point.

It is fun to discuss but we haven't had the Combine or Pro Days. The first round will look a lot different when we get a month away from the Draft to what it is now.

With over 100 underclassmen, I think there will be a lot more fluidity in this draft compared to previous years. Heck there are guys like Jeremy Hill that is projected 3rd round now, but I could almost see him sneaking into the bottom 1st if he shows out at the Combine

also picking at #27 is a step change of difference from the #15 last year. That is, the variables of who and what position become much more fluid exponentially.

Yes yes no. If you draft a WR and he's not at least 6'2" or 215lbs then you don't take him in the first. You don't draft a skill position like WR late in the first round unless you're getting a potential game changer. Tavon Austin and Percy Harvin are exceptions to that rule, but someone like Lee or Cooks (who Mike D had in a recent mock) would be a terrrrible pick.

Marquis Lee is not really that burner everyone thinks we need. He's more of a YAC guy

Ok, so we have Jordan Matthews, Kyle Van Noy, and Jason Verrett ...who do you pick?

I see Van Noy in a lot of mock drafts so I would go with him.

Meh, Brees is going hard after Josh Gordon at the Pro Bowl this week. Receiver is locked up.

I agree. Loomis might work some magic and get Gordon in Black and Gold next year. How exciting would that be!!

jimmy + 1st for gordon and cameron

just tell them, one more issue with gordon and he's suspended for the WHOLE season. they can't risk that on a new QB

i would expect so since it was a bs idea, two top players at their respective positions for dirt cheap or a possible 8 figure player and a potential miss.

yeah we'd come out like bandits.

ETA: okay, I'll make it fair. we can throw in Ingram. Show the world Ingram > Trich!
