About to finish up at Lsu in electrical engineering and still have no clue what I want to do after I graduate. Military has been looking like a decent option and was just looking for some guidance.
Thinking Air Force since I'll have the engineering degree, but I figured some here may have been in a similar situation and could tell me my best options
for any help

why on earth would you join the military with an EE degree? thousands of better things you could do. make money as early as you can

One of my best friends did this. Air Force and is stationed in Italy currently. He wasn't an EE major though.

Air force does not equal military. With that said, getting your commission in the chair force would be a pretty cush way to ride out your mid to late twenties.

Not to be an arse, but EE degrees are worth WAY more than what the military will pay you.

Id rather make a little less if it would be something I'll enjoy.
I just don't see myself enjoying the basic ee job sitting in a office all day.
Just seems like military would be something I could enjoy

Did you pay attention at all? Even if you didn't you should be able to get a power job.
Right now you could get any systems, reliability, or safety engineering job you wanted. Those aren't high stress jobs crunching number, assuming there's a reason you don't want to do EE.

Besides having his degree, now he will have on the job training experience with an Honorable Military Discharge to go with it. Pretty impressive resume! That will get him ahead in every interview for the rest of his life. Think long term payout. Do it, you wont regret it!

I'm 27 years Army and I agree with this for an engineer - couldn't ask for a better resume builder.

give Uncle Sam a few years (20) as an officer in this program, and when you get out you will start out at 100k per year at any of the Nuclear power plants in this country when you retire and be pulling an 0-4 or higher pension for the rest of your days to accompany your 100K per yr...
edit: that 100k is usually the entry level for a nuc officer from what im told

Unfortunately Navy OCS is run by Marines - so it can be pretty harsh. However, try the direct commission route first, before OCS. Maybe they will be desparate enough and grateful they didn't have to eduacate you (either Annapolis or NROTC).
Worth a shot.

I have ~3.0 and do well in most EE classes. Plus my family is pretty connected in the local Engineering scene.
Just want to do something I'll enjoy
